Had a terrible and embarrassing experience last night. It was our first time ordering from here, and we ordered through Skip for pickup and paid cash. The amount of meat in the soup was disappointing, but they did include tofu with the vermicelli and veggie spring rolls, which was a special request. I found a hair wrapped inside my spring rolls. We called to ask for a refund - we'd never eaten there and just found a hair INSIDE a spring roll. We called and the owner argued with us so we brought the food back to the restaurant for a refund. The owner was wearing a hair net, and made an excuse about how the hair got inside the spring rolls - no apologies. She did offer to replace the meal, but we did not want to eat any of it after seeing that. She kept telling us to cancel the order on Skip because they charge her a fee (there is no place to cancel after the order is complete) and said over and over that we were hurting her. She said we didn't need a refund because we make so much money already, which I found was a very hurtful comment. Finally, another worker gave us our cash back, and the owner yelled at us as we walked out the door to cancel the Skip order. The restaurant was empty. A very confusing and awful experience. Will never order from here again. We have nothing personal against the owner, but she made it personal very quickly. 0/10 do...
Read moreIf you go here, don't get the sate beef noodle soup. The price is too high for the quantity you're getting, and the soup feels like they just added a bit of yellow curry peanut sauce to an ordinary broth. This is the only satay beef soup I've ever had that was YELLOW, and I was second-guessing whether I actually got the sate beef I ordered, or some strange 'curry soup'. I would've asked the waiter, but after not bringing any tea or water and forgetting the basil leaves with the bean sprouts, I didn't see him ever again.
The boba tea was similarly underwhelming, with brain-chilling chunks of near-frozen slurry sitting underneath near room-temperature milk-tea.
Overall, I wish I hadn't gone, I wish I hadn't spent nearly 30 bucks on mediocre noodle soup and an under-mixed boba tea. If I have to use the [entirely decent] nearby laundromat, I won't be going...
Read moreEdit: It is with a heavy heart that I have to update this review. My husband and I have been coming here on and off for the last 10+ years. We occasionally stop by if we are in the area and I am sad to say its not what it used to be. I completely empathize and understand that while it's been an uphill battle with Covid and inflation (especially small businesses), I fear the quality is just no longer there. Portions are still significantly smaller than other comparable restaurants and there was hardly any protein in my bowl for the price point that was set. I really want to continue to support you, but with the direction the business is heading I'm finding it incredibly difficult to want to return.
