Having gotten tired of the usual grey meat and pink slime at my work, I thought I'd try the exotic asian culinary pleasures that await you at Wings.
I ordered a hot and sour soup and a ginger beef.
When I arrived home I excitedly dished up some ginger beef and poured some soup in a bowl. I immediately found the ginger beef to be chewy in texture and tough in consistency. The flavour was not bad though.
The soup was interesting with all of its shrimp and pork, but didn't taste like any hot and sour soup I'd ever had previously. It didn't smell like hot and sour either, more like thanksgiving gravy.
I said the heck with this and scraped my plate of ginger beef into the garbage, along with the soup. I planned on returning the food the next day.
The next day I remembered how incredibly friendy the proprietor was upon pickup and felt bad. Maybe I was the problem? I decided to give it another go.
I briefly reheated the ginger beef on low in the frying pan and the soup in a pot, also on low heat.
The ginger beef as an entire dish was fine and all, except the beef itself was tough and every piece had a little crunch of connective tissue/cartilage. You couldn't even cut through a piece with a fork. I tried with every morsel and couldn't do it! When I inspected the beef with all of the sauce removed it resembled the tail of a large rodent.
The soup was suprisingly better the second go, except it is now almost 24 hours later and I still have this foul film in my mouth that no amount of mouthwash will get rid of. It's like a horrible sour bitter taste that's trapped in my mouth. I'm not even joking I'm worried it may never go away.
Upon still having consideration of taking the food back I checked the business website.
Return and Refund Policy / In General
"If 25% or more of the food has been consumed or removed we cannot issue any discount, refund or store credit. If the food has been discarded, repackaged or tampered with then we cannot verify its origin or issue and cannot issue any discount, refund or store credit. Also, we will only prepare a second food order in all situation and we will not prepare a third-order replacement."
No where does it guarantee satisfaction, where most establishments tend to do this if I'm not mistaken.
Not being able to be sure I haven't crossed the 25% threshold I believe I will cut my losses and save my gas. I may store the food in the freezer for inspection in case this taste in my mouth...
Read moreGreat food but very disappointed in the service! We have ordered here a bunch. Like every other time, I just picked up and went home. After checking,I called to state the order was not what I asked for. She stated that item is what she wrote on the bill and I payed for. So okay “fair enough”, I didn’t check the bill or items, then I payed for it and took it home, that’s on me! Because we didn’t like the mistake order, I placed the proper order to pick up. I then realized, on the other items, they covered everything in sauce(to spicy for the kids) after I stated “sauce on the side”, she even confirmed it, so that wasn’t lost in communication. When I arrived, I showed her a picture of everything covered in sauce. She just said “oh sorry”, then asked if I would like to PAY for a new order- after I was already paying to correct the mistake on the miscommunication. So at this point I am $45 into a meal that isn’t what we ordered, and half the family can’t eat. Extremely disappointed in the way this was handled. I took responsibility and I paid for the miscommunication, they should have corrected their mistake and replaced the items...
Read moreOrdered 3 dishes, mostly vegetable, including chow main on the phone at 5:50 pm oct 29. I was told that the delivery would be one hour. I called back when I discovered my hubby could pick it up. I was told that it would make no difference in time other than maybe 10 minutes. 2.5 hours later, I called and was told sorry again repeatedly with no offer to compensate in any way, I was told that they were just too busy. Aka, making good money that night. 3 hours later delivery person arrived and laughed assistance told him what had happened. Again only an apology was offered and excuse of too busy. Food bag opened and sauce all over the place in the bag. Food tasted bad all round. Ordered Thai garlic beef and tasted rancid. Glad for you that you were busy, however, you just had your clientele pay for your poor judgement and lack of appropriate response. $45 in the garbage for us and another meal ordered to boot from somewhere else. But good on you, you made some money today. 💰 It is called a money grab as longevity will likely not be ...
