We arrived at 6 but didn’t leave until 7:45. It was about a 5-10 minute wait till our waitress came and took our drink order but we didn’t get our drinks until 10 minutes after because the cups were just coming out of the dishwasher, understandable so we got bread to hold us off until then. She came back not to long after with drinks and took our order, my boyfriend didn’t want a salad or soup so he asked to not get one, when she brought out my salad, she placed my caeser salad with a garden salad we didn’t ask for, she also just placed it at the end of the table with no utensils and left to go serve a bigger table their drinks, no asking if either of us wanted Parmesan or not not and mind you my boyfriend didn’t order one. My salad was lightly dressed and with barely any bacon or croutons that I took the croutons off the garden. My bacon was burnt that it made the ones that weren’t taste the same. We just ate the bread but never asked if we wanted more despite asking and never receiving. We waited quite a while for food, that our drinks were half full and never once asked if we needed a refill. Finally upon receiving she asked if we wanted Parmesan and we did and she had to leave to go get it and never came back but yet seen serving other people like the new table behind up who just got there. The manager came and did it for her after about 10 minutes which made our food slightly cold, my alfredo sauce which was barely any to begin with thickened up and by the end became a texture issue for me to finished. My son ordered a very basic noodles and butter and his noodles were over cooked, he still ate it but it’s the quality that matters. She barely checked in and when she did it was 2 seconds and not very accommodating, our table was still full with things we were no longer eating. She asked if we wanted take out boxes, she had to go and get them but by this point we asked for the manager and she brought them and listened to our concerns, she accommodated by taking a little off the bill and apologized. We understand it was a Friday but we saw tables around us being accommodated more, we even had this table beside us of an older couple who came in after and left before us with a bread to leave with. I’m writing this not to complain but to shed light that this seems to be an ongoing problem issue from reading the reviews and it sounds like we’re all getting the same waitress with the same behaviour towards people that aren’t Caucasian. We’ve been wanting this all week but had no time to sit in and eat until we were going to a event in Cambridge and thought to do this before going to it. East side Mario’s has been my favourite restaurant since a kid, will continue going but most likely not at this location. Thank you to the manager for listening to our concern and making up for the...
Read moreWe went today for Mother's Day and we booked at 8:00 pm to prevent the dinner rush time. Server wasn't so sure about several questions we asked regarding menu items, she kept going back and forth to ask which delayed our order time. After we settled and placed the orders server came back and said we ran out of this item can you choose something else we chose another item, she goes and comes back saying we ran out of this item too. Manager came and apologised that they no longer have their famous items as it was a busy day. We ended up ordering something else from the menu items it took forever to come eventhough we were the only 2 tables at the restaurant. Surprisingly the food didn't come hot but kids were too hungry they couldn't wait more, the pasta came in so much butter almost felt like a soup and it was so heavy that my son didn't even take more than 2 bites from it. We kept chasing the server to bring us the food as we were able to see the pizza lying there on the counter but no one to bring it over. Server kept forgetting items we asked for such as refill, water, cheese on salad and we kept reminding over and over. At 9:45 PM my daughter asks for mountain Dew refill and server comes back and says we closed the Mountain Dew machine, astonished by the answer we asked what time do you guys close at she said at 11:00 PM. At 10:00 PM they started putting the chairs behind us up on the tables and were cleaning as if they wanted us to leave. We thought it is completely unprofessional to do such a "Clean up" while we are still eating.
My daughter got her brownie with melted toppings as shown in the picture, most probably they heated up the brownie too much that's why it melted whatever was on top and brownie was hard.
When the server took our order I had a coupon for get a free appetizer when you order an entree, we did ask her to use the coupon and she said no problem even though knowing that we have kids and she also confirmed they will get free kids meal with purchasing an item from a specific 3 page on the menu for over 14.99. after 10 minutes the manager comes back and says sorry we can't combine coupon with another offer even though I asked the server clearly and she confirmed it was fine. I asked nicely the manager to make an exception for us today since our favorite menu items were not available and unfortunately he replies in a very rude tone of no we can't do that. The system won't allow it. I replied by thank you we took our food in to go boxes paid the bill and left and that would be the last time to go to East Mario's in Cambridge. We are not recommending this location to anyone that thinks of going there. On another note, bathrooms were...
Read moreTook my family for dinner at the Eastside Mario’s at the Cambridge Centre tonight (May 25th 2025) at first seemed great been there many times never had an issue, but we got seated and we were sitting in the last booth close to the kitchen and bathrooms where you can see the cooks and the servers making everything. My wife notices a waitress mixing someone’s pasta then licks her hands and handles someone else’s plates and touches a bunch of clean dishes never washing her hands. Luckily she wasn’t our server, but we place our order and our waitress seemed super distracted any time she brought food or asked us something it was like she had something better to do or would be chatting with co workers and barely placing things properly on our table almost like throwing it at us. She asked if we wanted bread we said no, 5 mins later she goes here is your bread throws it on the table and takes off chatting with other workers. We get our starters those were ok, then we get our dinner my son’s and mine were done right however my wife got seafood pasta she got 2 pieces of shrimp, 3 clams and something they claim was calamari but it was one tiny piece and looked pre-chewed! She never even got to taste her food before seeing it (will show picture) we tell our server who didn’t know what to say or do, she got the manager who was condescending and ignorant telling my wife nope that’s not what that is it is fresh piece but I will have them remake your food. My wife btw who is pregnant has now been waiting for 45 mins for her dinner. This isn’t even the worst there were fruit flies everywhere! It’s May, it isn’t summer and it isn’t like we were outside. Manager returns claims he compt her meal and gave a discount only to find he compt her meal but there was no discount no true apology it was like a child saying sorry because mommy had scolded him.
We will never return to this Eastside Mario’s they are not trained, no one does their jobs they are too busy chatting and hanging with...
