Sooo I will start by saying I started coming to the Bruce last year, spring of 2023. Up until literally a couple of months ago- the food was absolutely outstanding!!! They used to have a really amazing beef short rib I had around Christmas, blow your MIND good.

RECENTLY however, I believe there are new owners and management because everything is changed? The actual waiters that take your order are great as always, but there is an east Indian manager now that sometimes will take your order- tonight he just brought me a water and didn’t even ask if I wanted anything else to drink lol, additionally I ordered a $35 flank steak with truffle fries and it was supposed to come with a garden salad- I asked to substitute for a ceaser even for a charge, he said it wasn’t possible to do this and I needed to be charged for an entire side ceaser salad even tho the dinner came w a salad lol, I was open to paying extra but like- not being charged for an entire additional salad. He also said it wasn’t possible to do the steak medium rare said he could do it medium, it came out medium rare thankfully lol. Additionally there is a chocolate de creme dessert that is supposed to come with berries, it didn’t, nor did it say it was dark chocolate on the menu. Didn’t even enjoy it. The ceasar salad I paid extra for; browned lettuce throughout, the croutons were so stale they were hard as a brick (I’ve had this salad probably 5 times now since they put it on the menu) I was told it was a new crouton like I’d never had the salad before, kitchen said the croutons weren’t stale LOL.

I am reluctant to say the service and food quality has SERIOUSLY fallen over the past couple months. I won’t be coming back which sucks because I was a solid customer here and loved coming here. The food is unfortunately not it anymore and not worth the...

My daughter (15), fiancée and I, finally, tried the Bruce yesterday for lunch.

Drinks: Caesar- delicious, good amount of spice, nice seasoning salt on rim Four Fathers Bruce lager - light, smooth and nice taste

Starters: Sausage charcuterie board - 4 different preparations of sausage, sauerkraut, pickled onion, pickles, and grilled peppers, along with what I assume is a house mustard and toast. This all was much better than what I expected, we all enjoyed it, presentation was very nice, portion, and mixture of seasonings/ flavours was excellent. Poutine - Classic, large portion, again everything was fresh and enjoyed by all 3

Entrees:

Biria Tacos - fresh, delicious, side Bruce salad was amazing as well with really nice poppyseed based dressing

Mafaldine - daughter’s choice, really very nice combination of flavours. Huge portion

Brooklyn 99 pizza- great wood fired oven pizza, good char, nice firmness, great crust, tasty combination of cheeses with a nice pepperoni. 1 bite, everyone knows the rules 8.7. I would make this a regular pizza. One of the best pizzas in the region

Overall a great experience, great service from Christine(? I apologize, I believe this was her name), great atmosphere. Will be looking to book for their Valentine’s Day dinner

Many other items we would like to try on the menu still, unsure why we waited so long to make it here. The Bruce is added to the family restaurant...

Perfection in the midst of adversity!!

Food and Staff = 10/10

My wife and I came to the Bruce Craft House tonight for a later dinner and witnessed a really unfortunate interaction from a couple of impossible to please diners. The staff handled it so very professionally and with grace when they had every reason to be defensive and combative, the chef and server took the high road. We were very impressed with the staff!

So a couple thoughts: For the sake of a piece of meat, let’s maybe remain reasonable human beings and not ruin someone else’s day. If you are fastidiously specific about your steak, please learn what each cook temperature means. Just saying. If you are reading reviews, keep in mind that some people are really not so awesome to begin with.

As for our experience… The Birria was incredible! That sauce transported us to authentic, nostalgic moments! (Birria Nachos) The Scotty 2 Hotty pizza was a perfect heat oozing with flavor. Love that wood fired crust! The Bruce Greens was fresh and crisp! Delicious!

Most of all… Zoe is an awesome server that was attentive, delightful and should be given a raise ;) The head chef, Zack, was professional in his dealing with the aforementioned customers and has created a great team and menu! Sous Chef is a pro as well and took the time to chat with us.

Go. You...

Yesterday two Laura’s tried an interesting item from the Bruce Craft House dessert menu. For only 10 bucks this ice cream sandwich was a must try. When our waitress (whose name was also Laura) first placed it infront of us we were unsure. How do we eat this? A spoon? Pick it up? I opted for the pick up method. The crust part was like a rice crispy square only take out the crispies and put in Froot Loops. As I took a bite, all my childhood memories flooded to the surface. It took me back to Saturday mornings, eating a bowl of Froot Loops while watching Looney Tunes. The Froot loop crust had just the right amount of chewiness. It was sweet, sticky and gooey. And then there was the ice cream. How can you go wrong with ice cream? Picture your bowl of fruit loops. The loops are all gone and you are left with the sweet milk which you consume by drinking it from the bowl. Whomever came up with the idea of putting this into ice cream form is a genius. Delicious! Although this ice cream sandwich put me way over my calorie count for the day, it was totally worth it. Would I order it again? Yes! I give it a 9 out of 10. If it had sprinkles on top, it definitely would have been a 10.

This place came highly hyped but disappointed. Nothing about it was bad perse but nothing was outstanding either and the prices were highest. I stopped in after work for a early supper before heading to an event later. The restaraunt had only apps until 5pm so I decided to wait since I had heard the wood fired pizza was the thing to get. The most interesting discovery of the night was the craft grape cider which I had never had before but enjoyed. I ordered a meat lovers pizza and Buffalo wings both were serviceable but no better than I could get at any pizza place around at much cheaper price. The dining area was quite small and the ambience was ruined by a wedding party waiting for the event space next door and a child plunking away at the stand up piano. The wait staff were obviously harried by the party but did their best to check in on me. Once dinner service started it was enjoyable watching the pizzas being made in the oven at the back of the restaraunt. With tip, tax and drinks my bill came out to about $80 which I don't mind paying but I could have got just as good for much less elsewhere.
