Hakka Hut Cambridge — Restaurant in Cambridge

I recently visited Hakka Hut at 688 Hespeler Rd in Cambridge and had a frustrating experience regarding their promotions. While the food itself is decent, their promotions are extremely unclear and poorly communicated. They offer various deals like lunch specials from Monday to Friday between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM, and certain daily promotions like half-priced items or bonus deals on specific days. However, there’s no mention of whether these promotions apply on holidays, long weekends, or stat holidays. This lack of clarity can leave customers feeling confused and disappointed when they show up expecting a deal, only to be turned away.

In my case, I arrived on the correct day and within the specified time frame, only to be told the promotion didn’t apply because it was a holiday—something that was never mentioned anywhere in their advertising. For a restaurant that seems to be trying to draw in customers with promotions, they’re doing a poor job of communicating and honoring these deals. It feels like they’re picking and choosing when to apply the promotions, which can drive away loyal customers who take the time to come in and support them.

It’s disappointing that they haven’t put more effort into clearly outlining their deals. If you're going to run promotions, transparency is key—customers shouldn't have to guess whether a deal applies or not. For a restaurant in a busy and awkward location, turning away customers who are trying to support you is not the way to build loyalty.

Hakka Hut, do better. Clearly communicate your promotions, respect your customers' time, and serve the community you're trying to attract. Without these improvements, it will be hard to recommend this place, especially to those who value transparency and...

WORTH IT! This was my first time at Hakka Hut, I had heard of many of the dishes that were favourites by many and so I decided to give it a try. For those wondering this restaurant is HALAL. I had visited during COVID time but the restaurant atmosphere did have some people dining it so it didn’t feel empty. I decided to try there Hakka Noodles specifically the Chicken Hakka noodles as that is their star dish, and let me tell you it was worth it, it was hot, in good proportion/quantity and tasty, it lives up to its name and if you are in the Cambridge area and looking for an South Asian/ Thai food I recommend this place. They also feature many Vegetarian options for those who are looking. I also tried the Sweet & Sour Pineapple chicken and it was amazing and flavourful unlike some of the most talented Asian cuisine sweet and sour chicken I have tasted. Even during the times of covid where more and more restaurants are instead coming out with colder food, food in smaller proportions and generally bad, Hakka Hut really shines through. I didn’t try many of the options from the Menu, on my first time but I will surely be back. The only con I would say is I didn’t get to enjoy the Dine-in aspect of this restaurant as I’m sure the service would be great from my encounter with the reception! Great job Hakka Hut!...

A while back, we went to Hakka Hutt at 688 Hespeler Rd, Cambridge, Ontario. Hakka Hut is known for its’ relaxed eatery serving traditional Indo-Chinese dishes in a warm and stylish atmosphere. I personally was super excited to try it out here because the fusion of Indian and Chinese food sounds so delicious, so I had to give it a shot!

Firstly, we got the Chilly Crispy Potatoes in extra spicy which are a supreme ADDICTIVE snack that leaves you wanting more. These fried potato fingers are tossed in a House Hot Sauce Indian style. The spiciness was spot on!!! LOVING THE HEAT! We also got the Extra Spicy Chicken Szechuan Noodles consisting of egg noodles combined with carrots, peas, pepper, and soy sauce in this delectable dish. it's the ideal complement to Indo-Chinese cuisine! Lastly, we got the Extra Spicy Dragon Chicken which was incredibly flavourful and has just the right amount of spice. Overall, the food and service were both excellent. The portion sizes are generous, which is ideal because we get to enjoy delicious leftovers for another day or two. I can’t wait to come back and eat here again!
