The good and the bad I try and be as detailed as possible
It's cozy little family restaurant the people there are Pleasant and happy the service was good not overly chatty and doesn't hover over your table but they weren't too far away if you needed them
We were walk ins six of us totally surprised them because of covid-19 I wasn't sure if the dining room would be open they told us to come in threw a couple tables together for our family
We ordered a couple of garlic cheese bread orders to start it came within a couple of minutes it appeared to be like a large sub bun cut in slices with garlic butter and cheese on it it was pretty good tasting and it was a nice little snack before meal came
Kids ordered Burgers mostly Grandma had the fish and chip special my wife had chicken caesar wraps and I had the steak and shrimp platter
I have to say in all honesty we go out fairly often now I've been to The Keg Montana's Tony Roma's Tony's Pizzeria all the fast food chains you could probably name the Mandarin Etc.
Other than the Mandarin Buffet is very few places where I could say that I had a full plate of food that filled me up usually I eat what I have and then the wife of only eats half of what she had so I'll finish hers off and pick a little bit from the kid's plates to try a little bit of this and that from the menu like a little taster plate
When our food came here at Tony's Family Diner they were on large oval platters they were heaped with food twice as much as most restaurants give you
I had the steak and seafood so it came with like 6 shrimp on a bed of rice with mixed veggies in it it had a side of mixed veggies I also got some hash browns like breakfast home fries as well as the steak the portion was huge I knew just looking at it there was no way I was going to finish all of that
So I have to say in all honesty I was not a huge fan of the steak I don't think I would get the steak again it just had a funny taste that I'm not used to I'm guessing it's because of the spices they use it didn't taste bad I just had kind of a strange aftertaste however the rice was excellent the home fries were really good with a little hint of spice that just kind of give you that little hit in the back of your mouth and the steamed veggies were really good too I pretty near emptied my plate
Then Grandma offered me a piece of her battered fish so I had half of one of her slices the batter is good and the fish inside melted in your mouth it was juicy it was tasty although the batter was a little bit overly greasy from deep-frying it I wish they would have let it sit for an extra minute or two to let that drip off but overall it was pretty good tasting the fries and gravy that came with the kids burgers and stuff we're not bad at all The kids burgers were huge really good size burgers on a nice bun you order the things that you want on them it doesn't come with like preset onion and other stuff so yeah add lettuce tomato pickle or whatever it is you like
I have to say we enjoyed the experience the people were really nice the place was cozy the tables were kept clean the food was well above average in my opinion even though I paid like $30 for a steak and seafood dinner and the steak was not up to my liking I still would go back and eat there again There's not too many places I would say this about but it's what I would say is a hidden little gem the food portions are absolutely huge like a bigger than a truck stop huge the prices are really reasonable the staff is friendly easily to give you any information you need even the cooks in the back will chat with you overall experience was really good and if we're ever in the area I would definitely come back again and I would definitely recommend it to my friends...
Read moreFirst time here. Overall poor experience. Home fries were good. Service was horrible. I had to go get syurp for my daughter after requesting it. Had to ask for water several time. There cheddar omlett was made with processed cheese not cheddar. There were 5 wait staff and 13 table. I have seen less staff with more table do a better job. This will be the only time I go.
I received a response from you with an email address. It did not work so here is my reply you asked for.
Good morning. I was at your restaurant this morning. I have been in the customer service business for many years.
This morning is a poor example of service.
Issues I had with this morning breakfast.
Wait staff did not speak loudly or clearly with masks on
Daughter breakfast was cheddar omelette. It was made with process cheese. Who uses process cheese and charges $13
Other daughter got pancakes. Server asked if we wanted syrup. We said yes and not one came back to provide it. I had to get it.
I requested water before meal. Ate most of if before I asked another person for water. Table beside me requested HP sauce and got it right away.
Food minus cheddar omelette. Was good.
There are alot of places that provide good food but only few that offer great service.
I had heard great things about your restaurant.
Sadly the hype did not match the experience.
I was polite as I could be and still provided a tip despite my service.
This is My feedback and I will not likely be back.

We order from Tony's regularly. But tonight we decided to order from somewhere else. I won't say their name but let's just call it one of "The Local" restaurants in Cambridge.
When the order from "The Local" place arrived it was laughable. It was not even close to what we paid for. We called to request they redo the order and redeliver, but they wouldn't. Instead they argued and said Skip would refund us. I won't hold my breath.
So we called Tony's. Bacon Melt for my wife. Mozza Burger with Fries for me. It got here in roughly 30 minutes. Unheard of efficiency in 2025. But, no way -- no fries! Are you kidding me?
A call back to Tony's got us a completely different response than the one we got from "The Local" bunch.
We got a sincere apology. They took our address and advised that they would prepare and deliver the missing spuds ASAP. And 15-20 minutes later, voila.
Another apology as they handed over the item. And inside was more, much more than anticipated. We were given a full order of fries instead of a side order. (Side note here -- Tony's has MASSIVE portions). We also received a side of some of the freshest fruit I've seen and another one of their famous rice puddings.
Just unbelievable service. A round of applause from our home to Tony's Family Diner.
Make your next Friday night "I'm Too Tired To Cook" order from Tony's. Tell them Steve recommended them.
And don't waste your time with "The...
