Pho 54 — Restaurant in Campbell River

I am visiting Campbell River for Christmas and came across your restaurant after exploring the local shops, and I was so happy I stopped here for food!!! I got to try the BN3 - beef vermicelli and was blown away. The vegetables were fresh and flavourful, beef perfectly seasoned, and the spice was just enough to add a kick but not overpower the dish. The spring rolls that came with the dish were one of the best I have ever had. They are definitely a must try! We also had the Wonton soup, which was just as impressive. Incredibly flavourful broth mixed with the vegetables and wonton filling was a perfect balance! I left feeling full and satisfied without breaking the bank. Really, what more could you ask for!!!

Service was 10/10. The staff was so kind and patient I felt taken care of the whole time I was there! I definitely plan on returning before my trip is over and am very excited to try something new next time!!

Lots of variety on the menu. We love the cold spicy beef appetizer.

I ordered the BN1, rice vermicelli with pork and spring rolls. I appreciate that pork is expensive; however, I think they will need to update their menu so that you are aware that you’re going to get a bit of grilled pork but also you’re going to get a larger portion of some kind of ground/reformed pork patty that has been sliced and grilled. Both types of pork had a seasoning I did not care for that seemed very salty, but also a little bit vinegary.

Strange thing. Overcharged by an entire meal, (that is %50 plus tip = $35). Not knowing my partner had covered the bill, they charged me a third portion on my way out anyway …. Top it off, we were served COLD chicken, COLD rice, COLD vegetables, TINY fried wonton, strange water, GROSS coffee. The ‘nice old lady’ simply said ‘No.’ & refused to provide any sauce.

I felt cheated even before I paid for a third non-existent meal. It was a horrible experience, and the aftertaste is much worse.
