It was our first time in Marrow (and it was an awful experience) although it's been 2 months since they've opened... Food is effin good. Tyson is indeed a great chef. No doubt! We have nothing against the dishes nor the menu. If you're wanting to explore different food in Camrose, this should be on your list. Your experience might be different from ours. 😉
Well.. all I can say is that the owner (guy named shayne? shyne? shame?) of this restaurant only cares about the money. No customer service, just for profits.
So here's what happened (just the highlights only) • immediately after we were seated on our table, the hostess/waitress asked us what we would like to drink. 🥴 we haven't got the chance to open the menu. she didn't gave us time to settle first.. she just stood there impatiently waiting.
• this is the funny part. we waited more than 15 minutes just for the drinks. the owner was the one who served the drinks, he didn't even put it in a tray.. he was holding the flute glasses on each hand and when he got into our table, put the drinks down.. he said (non-verbatim) "is this yours? this is your order right?" interchanging the glasses in front of us then he just left. 🥴 not even apologizing for the wait nor asking whose drinks is it and looks like he really doesn't know what he's doing. 🤦🏼♀️
the serving time for the food is also too much for the normal wait time. it took them 25-30minutes just to serve the appetizers.
worst of worst. while we're still working on our appetizers when they served one of the main dish. 10mins-yep right after serving the starters. 😑 this is where I got really pissed off. we wanted to enjoy the food, but we felt rushed and pressured to finish it all at once. to note that our table is not enough for all of the foods and they didn't even thought about it. they didn't even asked if we are ready for the main. they can clearly see that we have got halfway through our appetizers.
then they serve my husband's main AFTER around 10mins. like wth? mains should be serve at the same time. always. (unless the customer says) this is a just basic restaurant etiquette and yet they didn't know about this.
there's no general manager. no team leader. owner is too cheap to hire one. or he's maybe too proud because he thinks that he doesn't need one.
most of the servers needed to be trained and supervised.
didn't like the atmosphere that much since I find it creepy to see animal heads displayed in a restaurant. it feels like eating in a jungle. like I really don't know what's the theme of this restaurant as the colors and decorations don't blend. such an eyesore.
Well there's really a lot to improve and change.. if they'll allow it. I just hope they will see this review as constructive not...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. A group of my friends and I were looking forward for a girls night on wine and charcuterie, unfortunately due to the stubbornness and unprofessional behaviour of the head chef/owner we did not get to enjoy this. We arrive at the restaurant at 6:30pm which leaves another hour left in the charcuterie special. When we got there the table of charcuterie was very picked through and only left a couple pieces of meat and cheese left; usually the ones people don’t reach for, with that being said we had expected it to be refilled due to there being another hour left. Our server knew we were there only for the special from the beginning of service when she took our drink order, no comment was made about the scarcity of the options left. Our table waited patiently for 20 minutes, through out this time the chef came out multiple times to look at the table and clearly saying he wasn’t adding anything more to the table (we can hear this clearly since we are sitting right there) the chef then proceeds to tell the servers he’s not adding anymore food. Before this happened we had already gone to get a small plate to snack on before more food came out. We become worried that we would each get charged the full amount even though there was a very limited selection and the chef was refusing to do his job. You could tell our sever was very reluctant to voice her concerns to the chef due his poor attitude, and rudeness he had shown to the other servers. My table simply asked if we could please get a refund or could there be more variety on the table. She handled it very well and refunded us for the small plates we had prior to this all happen. Through out the night the chef was coming in and out of the kitchen and giving us dirty glares. We all felt very unwelcome and left as soon as we were finished with the wine we had ordered. On our way out the chef was sitting at the bar talking with the bartender (clearly about us) and with a snarky attitude yelled at us “we really hope you come back soon”. With all of that being said let’s just say if this is how he runs the service industry he will not last. (All of us had experience in this industry prior to...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Marrow, and it was an exquisite experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting, with its warm lighting and stylish decor setting the perfect tone for an evening of culinary delight. To start, I indulged in the beef tartare, a true testament to the chef's artistry. The beef was expertly seasoned and incredibly flavorful, perfectly complemented by delicate accents that danced on the palate with every bite. It was a symphony of taste and texture that left me wanting more. For the main course, I opted for the ribeye steak, and it was nothing short of perfection. Cooked to absolute precision, each bite melted in my mouth, delivering a succulent and tender experience that showcased the quality of the meat and the skill of the kitchen. As if that weren't enough, I also savored the prosciutto-wrapped shrimp, a dish that elevated surf and turf to new heights. The combination of flavors was divine, with the saltiness of the prosciutto marrying flawlessly with the sweetness of the shrimp, creating a harmonious balance that left me speechless.Throughout the meal, the service was impeccable, with the staff attentive to every detail and always ready with a smile. The sommelier's recommendations were spot on, enhancing the flavors of each dish and adding an extra layer of sophistication to the dining experience. In conclusion, Marrow exceeded all my expectations and then some. It's a culinary gem that deserves every bit of its five-star rating. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving an unforgettable meal, Marrow is the...
