This isn’t a proper restaurant—it’s more like a small, poorly run food court.
Food quality: 1/5. We ordered the pork tonkatsu and the Red Dragon roll. The tonkatsu was awful—the batter was falling off, the pork was tough and had a strange smell, and even the rice it came with was cold. The Red Dragon roll was overwhelmed with gochujang flavor, making it impossible to taste anything else.
Ambience and service: When we walked in, the place felt like a ghost town—no host, no staff in sight. Apparently, they recently switched to a self-service kiosk system. You have to place your order, seat yourself, and then the kiosk even asks for a tip despite there being zero customer service. This is not a restaurant experience—it’s just a glorified food stall.
Wait time: It took 30 minutes for our food to come out, and we only ordered two items. There were maybe two open menu in dining area at the time, so the delay made no sense.
Staff presence: There seemed to be some employees around, but none greeted us or interacted with customers. The whole vibe was off and...
Read moreMy husband and I would order from here once or twice a month for the last couple years and have been loyal customers. Sadly since the menu change the quality of sushi just isn't the same :( depsite the menu change we figured we would stiIl give the benefit of the doubt and try it out. I understand the need to revamp from time to time, but the sushi selection now is extremely limited. No more options for better quality salmon or tuna, no Nigiri options, only 2 types of sashimi (farmed salmon or tuna), limited rolls etc. We were extrememy disappointed with the quality. The space has been transformed into a chain restaraunt feel with an tablet to select your order and the majority of the food is now burgers, Japanese hot dogs and food catering to the more standard western diet (lots of deep fried). I hope the change works for them but for me, I'll need to find...
Read moreSince the restaurant opened in February we have attended this place 4 times in the last month. The restaurant decor is spot on and more importantly the staff is amazing especially the owner that takes your order and serves. They are recently moved here from Vancouver and we are so thankful they had brought their Vancouver sushi vibe to Camrose. The food in incredible and so far the best Japanese / sushi we have had, and we are huge Japanese food lovers. The portions are amazing, the sushi and rolls are spot on. The teppan teriyaki bowls are amazing and I highly recommend the beef bowl. If you are in Camrose and want amazing food this is the place to come to! Or if your out of town please make the drive into Camrose to experience this...
