Lucky Dragon Restaurant — Restaurant in Camrose

i was craving some chinese food with my friend. we ordered the two can dine with the chicken chow mein, sweet & sour boneless pork, spring rolls, and the fried rice.

the spring rolls were the only thing edible. the rice was like gelatine and stuck to itself like it had sat for a long time. the chow mein was disgusting and covered in layers and layers of oil. it was more oil than it was anything else. the chicken was tough and hard to chew through. the pork was also covered in sauce, which made it taste good, but the sauce was also very gelatine like. when we had ordered, it took around 25 minutes to arrive which isn't bad. however, that makes the state of this food extremely questionable.

within 30 minutes of consuming some of the food, i began to feel extremely ill. since then i have thrown up basically everything. my friend was smarter than i was and stopped eating after the first bite of chow mein.

Lucky Dragon is a pretty good Chinese restaurant in Camrose, the buffet is small but decent, the service is friendly and food is fairly good. It will satisfy your Chinese food cravings, but not amaze you.

Some of the food is seasoned in unexpected ways, and I found the two vegitable dishes very salty. Buffet dessert options consisted of jello, store bought lemon pie and squares - which was really disappointing.

The decor is also quite dated a with dingy white walls, pink trim and green chairs...

We were in Camrose on unrelated business and fortunately a late lunch was on our menu. We seen the open sign in the window and another that said "Smorg Open". Now thats been a while. I was a bit hesitant as the parking lot was very empty but we were the first customers just in time for the opening of the SMORG.
