There's not one singular thing that makes this a miserable experience but the it definitely all adds up to a less than stellar experience. There are items on the menu that aren't available and thanks to this awful design of this whole a&w, you are trapped in the drive thru until the cars eventually move, so you order just so you aren't completely wasting your time. The service was kinda crummy, and as someone who worked in retail for half a decade its not hard to do the bare minimum even on a bad day, but even before I got up to order I could hear the order taker aggressively telling the car in front of me what they were out of. When I pulled up I got overall snippy attutude, sorry for telling you what I don't want on the burger before telling you my side and drink. It's also really telling how little people care when they can't even be bothered to mark off the tabs on the drinks so you know which of the three brown liquids is which. The worst part is that the food wasn't even good, and I really like A&W food, but the sweet potatoes fries were undercooked and tasted off, maybe the chipotle mayo could have salvaged them but hey they forgot that too. If you want to avoid the crummy drive thru experience then step inside to the counter productive interior, because the counter is set up to corral orderers and people waiting for their food into a small area which block the fountain pop and main garbages. Just an overall...
Read moreMy wife wanted a "Beyond the Meat" burger, so we decided to stop at this A&W before heading to the lake. Being an ex-A&W employee (School years) I've had a soft-spot for this franchise ever since. On this visit, I was really disappointed during and after this experience (Food and Service wise)
Long Review of the entire experience: Friday July 26th 2019 - Suppertime. There was a few people ahead of us, but nothing that I would call a crazy rush. There were 2 people serving customers, the place was very dirty, considering the location is fairly new and the staff looked disorganized and frantic.
We get our order to go, with the special instructions to get seasoning on the fries. We see them put our order together, but not to go. After telling them twice to get the order to go, we get it done; I ask the of the fries were seasoned... they said yes, after checking they were not. They get us the seasoning and we head over back to our vehicle. The food was bad.... fries were soft and under cooked, my buddy burger looked like a sloppy Joe, and the onion rings were actually cold (In 30 degree weather)
I consider this type of food, cheat food / once in a while food... so when I get it, I really want it to be as good as it gets for fast food.... this was not one of those times....... It just looked and felt like a bunch of staff members that no longer cared about giving people a bit of service and...
Read moreNormally I'd rate A&W much higher. Service at the counter was incrediably slow due to prioritizing drive through clients (two sets of clients left the restaurant as the waiting time became excessive). In these cases I would expect cashier to at least acknowledge the people waiting, eye contact/gesture whatever and to alternate between window and in restaurant orders. Restaurant was empty except for what looked like 3 employees not on their shift lounging in the booths near the door. One was laying down with his feet up on the bench. Restaurant was also quite dirty, especially the bathroom (paper towel was empty I might add). After peering over the counter I noticed a fair amount of food on the floor too. The cherry on the cake was I got stomach issues later on after eating, which usually isn't something I experience. I still very much enjoy A&W but would not return to this...
