I walked in one afternoon mid week as I was hearing wonderful things about the new sushi place (the only one) in town. Plus its usually packed on weekends and evenings. I'm not your average sushi connoisseur and don't consider Kappa Maki sushi, as its not. When I saw someone had added a picture of Uni Sashimi on the businesses FB page I was like OMG can it be real?? Finally some authentic Japanese Sushi...Hamachi, Unagi, Uni to name a few. I'm in heaven...the freshness, taste and portions were awesome and just like I remembered it from my days in downtown Toronto. It's a small place so it fills up fast! The staff were friendly and inviting when entering the restaurant. I'm in love and will be officially broke as long as Moore Sushi is here. YUM!! I also had the deep fried Green Tea Ice Cream which was yummy but could stand to have a little less batter but nether the less tasty....

Delicious! I order two of the rolls (rainbow and blossom) and a soft shell crab to share for lunch. 10/10 tasty! * the presentation was very appealing.* I am definitely going to come back for more later.

Edit: one year or so later I have to downgrade my rating. I am allergic to many things one of which is everything citrus. We have ordered 4 times and 2 of those four have had citrus, specifically lemons, added to the dishes. I also request no ginger as it is another thing I am allergic to. I have removed my comment "Additionally they were able to accommodate my citrus/tomato allergy..." as they were shown to not be able to meet this requirement.

This is a very tasty expensive treat and now my body is poufy and my eczema is reactive, thankfully I am not anaphylactic. I am saddened and disappointed. I don't know if we can order...

My husband and I went here recently for a treat. I'd rather put 3.5 but unfortunately I can't seem to put half stars. The service was quick, polite and friendly. The food tasted good and we got our order in a timely manner. The portions (in particular the maki rolls) were very small for the price- both in terms of the circumference and the number of pieces. Both rolls were only 6 pieces, and one of the rolls was $14. We've generally found more expensive specialty rolls are 8 pieces, so that was disappointing. Unfortunately after spending $45 in food for the 2 of us (not including tax and tip), my husband and I both left hungry. We may try it again later when inflation is less of an issue, with more attention being paid to portions on our end. Edit: Original review was from December, I edited some mistakes, and it...

This restaurant opened recently but is already a popular spot in Carleton Place. They have a large selection of Japanese food including ramen and my favorite - chirashi (sashimi on rice). We sampled many dishes including: -Gyoza: well-seasoned but soggy because of the dipping sauce under it -Sushi rolls: fresh, tasted like most takeout sushi -Tempura: good ratio of veggie to shrimp, crisp -Chirashi: great selection of fish! The rice was seasoned with sesame which was unusual. I would have preferred the dish without sesame seeds as the aroma overpowered the fish. Our dishes came at a reasonable time despite the restaurant being busy with both dine in and takeout. Servers were friendly and attentive. Food: 7.5/10 Service: 8/10

Decent sushi, interesting variety, good presentation but as for me the soy sauce is very salty and it has negative impact on the overall flavor. I really like how some places make their own soy sauce which is actually making sushi more delicious. Also the size of the rolls is on the smaller side. We order the same amount of rolls (and pay the same) but we usually are super full and we often have the leftovers. Not the case here. Note: we are very picky sushi eaters and this review is for improvements purposes only. Overall it is a good place and I am happy there is a sushi spot in Carleton Place.

Small, tucked away sushi and ramen restaurant somewhat surprised to find it in Carleton Place but it really is excellent. Sushi was tasty, well presented and for the quality decent value for money. Service was friendly and efficient. Quite a few non sushi Asian options as well - great to have the option to get this kind of cuisine in the area without having to go into the city.
