Spartan Pizzeria — Restaurant in Carleton Place

My wife and I literally laugh-out-loud at anyone who suggests ordering a pizza from anywhere other than Spartan...asking us to order a pizza elsewhere is like asking us to breathe something other than oxygen. Spartan Pizza is the perfect merriment of family, service, and quality food. Always super friendly, always satisfying....and they'll make your pizza anyway you want: you want a stuffed-crust, they'll do that. Thin, thick, well-done, whatever you want, they'll get it done and it'll be awesome. Also, they have the best garlic dip - make sure you ask for it! You might find cheaper pizza out there, but cheaper pizza is cheap for a reason - you might enjoy the first few bites of pizza from a corporate pizzeria, but the flavour is usually one-dimensional, and it has no legs... Spartan Pizza is friggin excellent the next day, cold or nuked. Quality ingredients makes a huge difference - and it's easy to tell that's where Spartan is coming from: quality ingredients for a fair price. Worth it all the way. Go Spartan...

I placed a pickup order for 4:00 PM and was told it would be ready by 4:30. I arrived at 4:27, only to be told, “it will be ready in a few minutes.” I ended up waiting until 5:00 PM. It was clear they hadn’t even started preparing the pizza when I got there. No apology, no explanation—just a complete disregard for my time. Disappointing service, and I won’t be returning to a place that doesn’t respect its customers.

EDIT: Thanks for your reply. I understand that things can get busy, but from my perspective, I was told the pizza would be ready at 4:30. I arrived just before then and was repeatedly told “it’ll be ready in a few minutes” but ended up waiting until almost 5:00. That repeated messaging without transparency was frustrating. My recent online order on Sunday July 28th at 6:08 pm, (#899139142) for a grilled chicken Greek salad and garlic cheese bread was extremely disappointing. First of all it, delivery time was supposed to be one hour and the order arrived in just under 1 ½ hours. I was expecting a grilled chicken breast but the chicken was shredded and very dry, and the salad was warm. The garlic cheese bread was nothing more than slices of white bread with garlic spread and melted cheese – the bread was barely toasted.

The previous order I placed on July 14th was also disappointing – a missed item and also late. It was corrected but only after further delay.

Your standards have fallen way below what I’ve come to expect from Spartan’s and I’ll be thinking twice about ordering again after being a customer for many years.
