I have celiac disease and rarely get takeout because the choices are limited and also cross-contamination can make me ill. I took a chance at the Subway in Carleton Place and was served by Christine. When I told her I needed gluten free, she asked if I was celiac or gluten free (there is a difference). No one in the food industry has ever asked me this so I was pleasantly surprised. She then prepared my subs away from the regular prep station to avoid contamination and toasted them by themselves. She was one of the most pleasant people I've met and was not at all put out over the special treatment my order required.

Read moreThe 3 girls in there were super busy with walk-ins, food delivery service pick ups and mobile orders. They all stayed friendly and professional. I wish I could remember the one tall, dark-haired girls name, I should, she's helped me for years (she is back there full time, lost her job as a flight attendant unfortunately due to Covid19), but she is always phenomenal.
