The drinks are fantastic and from what my coworkers have told me, the food is pretty good. They offer the David Rio cans of Chai to buy to take home, which is an excellent drink mix. Staff are super friendly and the place always looks pretty clean and nicely decorated. Rotating drink themes are always worth taking a look at (eg, lavender or raspberry mixes). The service is where it falls apart. Sometimes you get great service (I think when the owner is working). Other times, particularly on the weekends, the staff are too busy with personal conversations for speedy service. I was in a line up that was 7 people long, and the girl taking orders kept leaving the till to go gossip with another girl down the counter. On my visit prior, my order was straight up forgotten, leaving me to wait 20 minutes for a single drink (though they never seemed to forget to return to each other to continue a story about a customer from that morning). I’ve driven by this coffee shop several times as I pass through Castlegar. I decided to stop today and had the most lovely experience from the moment I walked inside. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and engaging with everyone including the children. Everything was very clean and organized inside.
