I will start by saying I've been spoiled by lobster rolls at Chez Mag on Isle D'orleans. So my bar is set pretty high. That said, Dave's Lobster is a must try if you're in PEI. The freshness of the lobster is amazing! Where Dave's lost a few points for me was for the price their rolls are not plated as well as others I've had. They came with a bag of local potato chips, coleslaw, and pickle slices. No fries was a detractor for me; especially being in the potato capital of Canada.

After all the hype about going to Dave's Lobster I finally tried it. Firstly, the price for the lobster roll was expensive. $33 for what you got. It was very small. I would recommend the butter lobster over the cold lobster if you were going to give it a try. The potato salad was good but I definitely think everything was overpriced for what you got. Worth a try for the experience but not worth a second.

Friendly staff and amazing food. My daughter had grilled cheese that even the adults were gushing over. I got the half hot half cold lobster roll and I wish I had the chance to get one more hot roll, it was the best one I had on our trip (and I ate them every chance I got!)

Best Lobster Rolls in PEI – Friendly, Welcoming, and Delicious!

We stopped at Dave’s Lobster for lunch today, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in. Our server recommended the half and half so we could try more than one style, and I’m so glad she did.

My husband, a lobster roll newbie, ordered the half local and half fancy. He enjoyed both but found himself especially loving the fancy. I ordered the half local and half spiced, and both were absolutely amazing, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced.

We come to PEI every summer from Ontario and make a point of trying different lobster rolls each trip. Every place does them a little differently, but out of all the spots we’ve visited over the years, Dave’s Lobster is hands-down my favourite. The flavours, freshness, and care put into every bite really stand out.

The restaurant itself was spotless. The tables clean, atmosphere welcoming, and even dog-friendly, which is a huge plus. The potato salad was a delightful with its fresh dill, so tasty!

For a tourist spot, Dave’s Lobster at Avonlea Village is easily the most welcoming place we’ve been to in the area. We’ll be back every year, without a doubt....

The lobster roll was good, but could have had more sauce and a softer bun. My last lobster roll from another vendor was better and had more meat on it. The roll was 33$. The weirdest part for me was that, the girl working there accidentally brought out my food with an extra side, potato salad. 10 minutes later, she came out and told me that I already got chips, and she shouldn't have given me the potato salad. She was irritated with me and took it back, right out from under my hands eating. I am concerned about food handling here now. Was she going to give that food to another customer? It had been sitting out in the sun for 10 mins on my tray. Surely, it would've been better to gift the potato salad to a paying customer rather than sour my whole...

The directions for everyone that was meeting us there was wrong, not just on Google maps but other mapping systems as well. The food was terrible. Plain lobster on a toasted (small) hotdog bun. There was no flavor. It just tasted like boiled lobster. No butter or sauce, just boiled lobster on a small bun. Everyone agreed it was lack terrible.

No Dave, I was at Dave's Lobster at Avonlea Village. My roll was as described, it was like warm lobster on a bun - lots of lobster, can't complain about the amount, it just tasted like plain lobster on a hotdog bun - sorry, but it was what it was. The other two people I was with also said the exact same thing...
