I'm a regular at this cafƩ. The owner is an incredibly hard-working dude and the only employee (except on Saturdays where he employs the help of his wife, if I'm not mistaken). If you arrive during a busy time, there is always a bustle of kids, people, and dogs in this little heritage building. The owner sells local art and different coffee accessories alongside his menu; the food and drink menu may seem a little average at a glance, but it is executed with care and dedication. The pastries are made by the owner, and on Fridays he brings in locally made doughnuts (they sell out fast so you gotta arrive early)! StopGap's espresso is one of the few places where I actually enjoy drinking a straight espresso! The menu here also includes a few unusual items, making it stand out: HongKong milk tea, espresso cola in the summer, cortado, and a few more unique items. StopGap is one of the few places I know I can go if I would like a place to work and focus, or if I would also perhaps like to meet somebody new. The seating is limited here due to space-- Inside, there are twelve seats, six of which are shared at one large table. The summer offers additional seating outside on the patio and there is a bench in the main entrance facing the till and espresso machine. The bench shares space with this cute little windowledge so you have a place you can set your coffee. Oddly, despite how busy the rushes can get, there has always been an open seat for me, you just have to be willing to share your table sometimes. When it's not busy, you can clearly hear the casual modern instrumentals of a lo-fi radio going on in the background. StopGap has been an amazing meeting place for our neighbourhood, and I highly recommend a stopover!

My visit to Stopgap Coffee in downtown Edmonton was a delightful experience. I opted for a cappuccino and a brownie, and I must say, I was quite impressed. The cappuccino was a perfect blend of rich espresso and velvety steamed milk, topped with a beautifully crafted foam design. The coffee was not too bitter, with a balanced flavor profile that hit all the right notes. It was clear that the barista knew their craft well, as the cappuccino was just the right temperature, allowing me to savor each sip. Pairing my coffee with a brownie was an excellent choice. The brownie was moist and decadent, with a delightful fudgy texture. It provided a perfect complement to the coffee, adding a touch of sweetness to my morning. One of the standout aspects of my visit was the convenience of free parking right in front of the cafe. In a bustling downtown area like Edmonton, finding parking can often be a challenge, so this was a definite plus. It made my stop at Stopgap Coffee even more enjoyable, as I didn't have to worry about parking hassles. The ambiance of the cafe was cozy and inviting, providing a pleasant atmosphere for enjoying my coffee and treat. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that my visit went smoothly. In conclusion, Stopgap Coffee in downtown Edmonton offers a great coffee experience with high-quality beverages, delicious treats, and the added convenience of free parking. If you're in the area and looking for a coffee spot, I highly recommend giving it a try.

Today was the first hot day after many cold days.

My acquaintances, friends, and family know that I usually prefer my coffee hot. However, with the arrival of the first warm day, I decided to try a cold coffee instead.

I chose to go to Stopgap Coffee because it’s close to my place and one of my favorite coffee shops in the city.

I love Stopgap Coffee for the quality of their ingredients and the cozy, welcoming decor that makes you feel immediately at home.

Today, I stopped by to grab my cold coffee just before they were about to close. When I entered, I asked if I could get a coffee. A gentleman behind the counter asked what I wanted and quickly made my drink. When it was time to pay, he surprised me by saying that my coffee was on the house this time.

I swear, this thoughtful gesture made the whole experience wonderful and unique. I love this place! They always do the right things, ensuring that when you leave, you feel appreciated and welcome.

Thank you again! I’ll continue to visit and bring my friends so they can enjoy the same beautiful...
