Uptown Lounge — Restaurant in Charlottetown

The service that Caroline and I experienced tonight was excellent, convivial and made our meal a great experience.

The food was good, as were the portion sizes, and as the appetizers were sale priced for the evening, we each enjoyed one, the Donair Dippers for me, and Caroline ordered the deep fried dill pickles. They were served piping hot from the deep fryer, and I have to say the donair dippers reminded me of McBeef nuggets if there was such a thing, chopped formed frozen battered bits that were served with an okay donair sauce. Caroline makes a home made sauce that is quite a bit better. I quite enjoyed the deep fried dill pickle spears. I’d order the pickles again, but the donair dippers might wait until next year until I forget how three star they are. Lol.

Caroline went off the rails and ordered the stir fried Thai chicken Chili on top of French fries instead of rice, sort of a stir fry poutine, and I was surprised how good it was. It was certainly different!

My fish and chips were okay, served with a creamy tartar sauce, lemon wedges and a truly lovely bit of creamy coleslaw. If I’d known how good it was, I’d have asked for more. It’s really very good.

What i didn’t care for were the bag fries, but they were served hot and fresh out of the kitchen, so hot I had to take care not to burn myself, so they redeemed themselves slightly there. :)

The food was good at a decent price, and with the service it was a good experience overall. I’d like to try their house burger and the onion ring appetizer next, although the Greek salad looks good as well. Decisions decisions.

Small restaurant/bar with only 3 bar and maybe 10-15 tables. Food service was intermittent. Staying here for a week and coming multiple times, food service times changed frequently and were unpredictable. Don't expect to eat after 7pm during the week unless it is a Friday, as the kitchen closes. Tracey was the absolute best bartender though and is the reason we kept going back. She made the place fabulous. Food was fine, and we would have liked to eat here more often, but figuring out the food schedule was too much...

Came to Uptown Lounge today for lunch, it was a great place to swing in for a quick bite. Velvet served our table, she was polite, very friendly and very fast/helpful (keeping my water filled is a full time job in itself)! The food was prepared very quickly and all 3 plates came out together warm and very tasty!
