Canadas Best Value Inn & Suites Charlottetown — Hotel in Charlottetown

DO NOT STAY HERE. Hotel is Old, shabby, gross, damp, mildewy and uncomfortable, located along a BUSY highway. There are No amenities at the hotel. I mean none. No gym. No pool ( it's an outdoor pool that is sketchy at best and was empty while I was staying in April. No hot tub. No lounge. The attached 'restaurant' is little better than a hallway and does not stay open past 10pm. I stayed for 2 nights for a conference that was prebooked by the group. Worst mistake I have made in taking a hotel room without checking first. No house-keeping, no towels, no refills on coffee or tea (which is the ONLY item in your room by the way). Apparently, a guest must ASK for service. Totally unacceptable for the cost. No ine makes your bed, cleans or provides anything during your stay unless you Demand it at check in.

Check in was slow.

The provided breakfast is as follows: Dry scrambled eggs, overboiled, refried potatoes, toast. Every day. And if you arrive past 8am, good luck getting a table. There is no service for breakfast if you want to order. You get what you can get at the 'buffet', eat quickly in this dark lounge room, with no music of any kind, clear your own dishes into a giant trash bin located next to the buffet, then leave. As quickly as you can. Trust me when I say you don't want to be there any longer than necessary.

Check out was fast, I was there early as I wanted to leave this terrible hotel as fast as possible. The check-out girl (I would never call her a receptionist) did not ask me how I wanted to pay, or if I was splitting the bill. She charged my credit card for the entire amount and handed me the manager's card to handle complaints about the room, service etc.

If you have the ability to stay ANYWHERE else, do it. Do not stay at this terrible, gross, hotel. Incidentally I will be calling the manager because of how Bad this...

I stayed at the CBVI from Oct 3rd - 6th and I can HONESTLY say I NEVER will again! I had stayed 2 prior times, reserved rooms an had no complaints. This time I reserved a family suite and it was HORRENDOUS and I was not the only one to experience this this weekend. To start, I had been specific I need a full functioning fridge (hence why I reserved the suite and paid more) and when I got to the room it was not. There was another small fridge in the room, leaking, had not been cleaned and old food left in it. The front door you had to slam it was not set properly. The carpet looked to have not been cleaned for a considerable amount of time, I could dried blood, yes read that again, dried blood on the floor in a patch so obviously floors are not washed. Throughout my whole stay there was no cleaning service that attempted to at the VERY LEAST supply new clean towels. Numerous attempts were made at front desk to have the fridge replaced (I was there for a big event and had several plates to prepare). Microwave would work, not work, work not work... Fridge was finally replaced 2 days later. Whomever took my reservation screwed up, front desk attendant stated that she had fixed the problem and I got a call while at the event that my card would no longer work as there was a mistake...and if I was not back by a certain time (reminder I am at an event) that I would not be able to get in as no one would be at the desk. Several attempts to have a discussion with the manager falls on DEAF EARS! This is the very first time I have ever placed a negative post concerning a motel/hotel as this was an extreme case.
