First of all the people are nice, very friendly and great service, but the food straight trash, we dined in and the pho was mid, but we thought to ourselves ok we always had really good pho so maybe we are just spoiled so give it another go. I got takeout and damn....I rather not. Their version of the Cantonese chaw mein is so fried makes the junkies downtown Calgary seem normal, then you supposed to pour on that gooey sauce and make the dish complete, what I got was straight up water, went straight to the bottomed of the container and the top remains dry af. I got the lemon grass chicken cause it's always something juicy and tasty, yeah not here, now I know how tree bark with oil taste. People running this place are super nice and friendly, maybe it's just what people here like I guess, but damn you know you bring that home to your Viet parents those slippers are coming out.

The restaurant is spotless and well-kept, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. We tried the seafood pho and the beef satay pho, both of which were absolutely delicious! The broth was rich and flavorful, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. Everything was perfectly balanced and satisfying. The staff were also very friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Whether you're a pho lover or trying it for the first time, this place won't disappoint. Highly recommend!

My wife and I decided to try Van Son after receiving their menu in the mail. We chose to dine in. The service is excellent here with friendly staff. The portion sizes are quite big which is nice. There is quite a few vegetarian options and vegan options as well. I was able to find several items that suited my vegan diet and the restaurant was very accommodating in that regard as well. I recommend the tofu rolls for sure. Price is more than fair as well. We will definitely be back to try more things.

Way over priced for lack luster food.

I ordered the beef soup special and spring rolls. Everything was extremely oily. The soup literally had a layer of oil on top. I had to move the broth around to get to the soup. Aside from that, the flavour was actually not so bad. I couldn't eat the noodles because everytime I would pick up some noodles with my chopstick, it would coat itself in the oil. I ordered extra tendon and the texture was very hard. I probably ate only 1/4 of my soup. Again, their spring rolls weren't so bad but the wrapping was so oily that you could literally tell from the oil seeping into the wrapper, making it look sort of wet.

I sat there doing some work for quite a while and no one asked me how my food tasted. I would have told them but they were too busy conversing behind the till. When I checked out, one of the female servers finally asked if I enjoyed the meal, to which I shared with her exactly what I am sharing here. I got a very nonchalant apology. I don't care too much about not getting a discount, but at least act genuinely apologetic. Especially if I am paying full price for a barely eaten, unsatisfied meal.

I don't come to Chestermere often but I would reccomend just taking the extra ride out to International Ave for better vietnamese, that is truly worth the...

Better than most Vietnamese places in Chestermere and nearby Calgary area. Friendly staff and they always accept adjustments/special instructions. They don't skimp on ingredients!!!!! Best pork wontons ever ♡ Love their fried rice too. Beans and coconut milk dessert is a must! My hubby always gets their VanSon Special- Beef soup with your choice of noodles. We get the rice noodles. Other faves: ☆Shrimp Stir Fry - perfectly cooked ☆Fish in black bean sauce - great with rice . Sometimes I steal some rice noodles from my hubby and make black bean noodles. So yummy! ☆ Sweet and Sour Soup -for the adventurous! Taste-wise. It is both sweet and sour. But not too much. Very enjoyable. ☆ Satay based soup -ughhh! Their peanut sauce is just so good! ☆ 3 grilled skewers (chicken, beef and shrimp) - I wish I could have this shrimp all the time. I usually dont like beef, but this one is is just perfectly seasoned. ☆ Veggie Rolls -sweet potatoes and carrots ! Just great! ☆ Grilled Pork on rice - easy to cut and tastyyyyyy ☆ Bananas and Cream -always a good way to end a meal. We're just glad Vanson is so...
