The pastries on display look great, no question, but number of complaints in reviews below must tell you something as well. The main problem of this tiny neighbourhood bakery is total lack of space, it is very crammed and their customer service is not very impressive.
I ordered a simple black tea to go here few times and every time had to wait long to get it. Asked not to put sugar (i can't take sugar with tea) and the lady did not pay attention to my request, so she made a wrong tea. They have no oatmilk or almond milk for those who don't want dairy.
As others in some reviews already pointed out, in my experience their service is not always attentive and some of the girls that work there don't know much about what they sell.
On positive side, they have great looking pastries on display. However, their prices are a bit high. You can buy a large pack of delicious fresh croissants or "les pains au chocolat" in any of four Save on Foods in our city for the price of one or two pastries here(hint) (If you want a real neighbourhood bakery experience, to get away from supermarket bakery sections, I would highly recommend to check out "Benanna bakery" Downtown on...
Read moreI like to bake. I enjoy good desserts. I expect a bakery to do better than a Costco or Saveonfoods. I've tried 3 things from Cabin Fever: chocolate chip cookies, a Nanaimo bar, and a couple cakes. The cookies were OK. I searched for the softest ones, and they were good. Not great. Pretty plain. The Nanaimo bar though... it just tasted like sugar, maybe a bit of coconut. I didn't taste chocolate and I definitely didn't taste the filling. Still debating just throwing it away as it has been in the fridge staring at me for a couple days (I take a bite or two each day, no desire to eat more). The cakes were at family parties and NO ONE touched them after a bite. Not even the little kids. People ate plain icecream instead. My husband will eat pretty much anything and say it's good, but not stuff from here. If I was starving and in the parking lot, I might try something else but otherwise... I don't usually do harsh reviews, but I am passionate about good baking and this is a bakery! Also a very...
Read moreI had previously ordered a cake from this bakery last year and was very satisfied with both the taste and presentation, which is why I returned again this year for my daughter’s birthday. Unfortunately, this time was disappointing.
I tried to provide constructive feedback over the phone, not expecting a refund, just hoping to share my experience. However, I was met with a defensive attitude and a dismissive tone. I was even told, “I knew you were going to call,” which felt unprofessional and disrespectful. As a doctor, I deal with feedback daily and know how important it is to handle it gracefully, whether it's positive or critical. Sadly, that was not the case here.
I’m sharing this review not out of anger but in the hope that future orders are handled with better communication, professionalism, and attention to detail—especially when it's for a child’s...
