The service was fine, nice waitresses and fairly quick refills on coffee. The food was horrible, both portion size and quality. My husband and I got the exact same burgers, the only difference being I asked for Jalapenos on mine. When we received our orders, his burger was fine with barely a drip of grease. My burger was literally pouring grease into my basket, even after soaking a napkin trying to wipe some of the grease off. The Jalapenos were not even a little spicy, just low quality mushy pickled variety. Those Jalapenos cost $2 more and I couldn't even taste them. And there was not even a handful of fries in either of our baskets. When I pay nearly $20 for a burger and fries, I expect to at least get a full plate of fries. They do make sure the fries are somewhat spread out to look as if you're receiving more, but even then it barely looked as if the baskets were half full and they were not large baskets. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but this was a meal that was far overpriced for the quality and quantity.
I now know why my uncle's typically choose Leduc Diner for our meals. In the future if the Diner is closed, we will be going somewhere/anywhere besides...
Read moreI hate writing bad reviews, but unfortunately, this one has to be explained 😕 Upon arrival, there were 2 tables in the restaurant with patrons. we waited almost 10 minutes for someone to seat us (we're patient people), and there was no staff in sight during this time. There is a massive fish tank that looks like it was once beautiful but is full of black algae (not good for fish), the seats in the booths for more than 2 guests need the material replaced, now the food... I wish I had taken a photo, my husband ordered poutine, my daughter ordered the honey bbq bacon burger and I ordered the cajun chicken burger and all dishes obviously came with fries there were barely enough fries to cover the bottom of the dish the poutine came in and I had 15 fries on my plate and my daughter had a little less. When we were done eating, the server brought the bill and the machine to pay, no offer for anything for dessert or coffee or even another drink 🤔 Not sure if this Smittys is closing or struggling to remain open I hope that they can recover as Smitty's really was one of my favorite family restaurants when I was growing up and during my children's...
Read moreWe went there and our food was all horrible. We ordered a 20 dollar burger and paid more for a poutine. It was disgusting and cold and the poutine had like 10 fries... So 24 bucks in the trash. The soup was cold and gross and my daughter loves pancakes and wouldn't even touch them. The sausage looked like it had been sitting there all day, they were burnt and the eggs were so gross none of us could choke them down. I literally never send things back or complain but this was the worst food experience maybe I've ever had at a restaurant. When we asked the server what the soup was she said she "had never heard of it before... That it was some kind of pablano cheesy soup", shrugged and said "I don't really know". I'd give it negative stars. I'll never go to Smitty's again. Times are tough and it was hard to even convince ourselves to go out and we regret it. Alot of buyers remorse. We sent the poutine back and my partner choked down the burger... But the rest sat on the plates. My poor kid was starving and she's really not that picky. I've never seen her refuse something like eggs...
