Montana’s BBQ & Bar — Restaurant in City of Lloydminster

We had been here once before when they first opened. Took forever for our food, but hey, it's new staff so we tried it again tonight. The waitress was awesome, attentive and polite. Now we showed up at 8:01pm tonight with two school aged children, and thought later in the evening would be better with less people. We were right on the less people part anyway. Majority of tables were clearing out and we were seated quickly. Orders were taken and our drinks were brought out in a timely fashion. Fast forward 45 minutes, our single starter is finally on the table, thank god because we were starving by this point. Round two of drinks finally shows up. Fast forward another 45 minutes, half of my fajita order is presented on the table (the cold toppings and the wraps themselves, but no hot meat). Kids are drooling over my cold lettuce and grated cheese at this point. 5 minutes later, kids are eating my sour cream out of the container just for something to snack on. I refuse to touch my meal without my hot meat. 15 minutes later, kids meals finally presented but no husband meal yet. FINALLY his meal shows up along with my steak for my fajitas!!! Now, I have to send the fajita wraps back to be warmed up since they're so cold and crunchy they can't even fold never mind wrap!!!

Now it's 10:00pm on a school night with two very tired and cranky children, and one very "heated" mother, I approach the waitress and politely ask her to tell the cook that this meal is on him. I'll happily pay for my drinks, but I'm not paying for that meal.

Manager comes out to take my payment and says he can only do half of the bill. Well, that wasn't gonna fly with this PO'd lady. After a quick little "conversation" with the manager who wasn't the best in customer service himself, I happily walked out paying for my drinks!!!

I have given this place many tries over the years. The service is always great and the smaller "easier" items are really tasty but when it comes to the big ticket meats like the steaks and the honking beef rib they are having serious problems. I will order a medium rare.. comes blue rare in the center. Ok order a medium next time just to be safe.. comes literally almost as bad as the medium rare I ordered months prior. Finally ordered a medium well just to be absolutely safe and it came as a decent medium done steak. My latest attempt was the last straw though. I had a terrible experience with the honking beef rib. The out side half inch of meat was cooked but when I cut into the center of the rib meat it was ice cold. Not slightly warm or a little bit cold. It was as cold as my glass of water with ice in it. I sent it back and the server was polite and shocked about it and got me another fresh one brought out but that's it. No discount or comp which is ok I understand but cold meat is absolutely not ok! You probably read all that and are thinking what does this guy know.. He's gotta be someone who just doesn't know what an actual finish on a steak is! I can assure you I am able to speak from alot of years of experience in regards to this. I worked in a very busy kitchen that specialized in prime rib, ribeyes, filet mignon and many other cuts of meat that had to go out perfect everytime! I was the one that prepared those cuts of meat when I worked for that...

Well let's start with .. Me an my friends made our reservation a couple hours ahead of time. We made it for July 3rd @6:30. Lets keep in mind we live in Wainwright Ab that's exactly one hr and half out of Lloyd. As we arrived at our reservation time to be there we where quickly noticed with being asked if our reservation was under this name. Which we proceed to say yes on the patio and the girl said no it was not put down for patio and it's full. So then they seated us in the far corner on the other side of the restaurant no where near patio. We eventually started freezing as there was constant cold breeze coming from celling fan. We just delt with not getting patio. If that wasn't to top off the horrible service our food wasn't even what we ordered. My steak wasn't medium well with mushrooms and onions it had none of what I asked . My friends salad was dry and her chicken was burnt she couldn't even eat it. My other friends beer batters fish was very oily on the inside and it was burnt on the outside she could make crumbs with it. The only good part was our starter s we are very disappointed over all. We would like to add that 7 Nikki H our waitress was very pleasant and understanding. She was wonderful and we want her to know she isn't the reason we didn't tip. We just couldn't tip the rest of...
