Since the REP was lifted, I decided to takey kids to check out this newish Boardwalk Burgers place near my house. I happen to be a huge fan of burgers, so trying out new burger places is ALWAYS a must-do thing for me!
When we walked in, the place wasn't busy and we were able to order right away. We actually had difficulty ordering, because between the plexiglass panel and the staff wearing a thick cloth mask, I couldn't hear a thing he said and I had to ask him to repeat himself several times. I was very frustrated that he didn't catch on immediately that he simply needed to consistently raise his voice in order to be heard. This is partially why I had to knock a star off.
However, our food was delivered and they got our order correct (my son is very picky, so that can be a challenge). I was very pleased that their drinks, especially their milkshakes, came with plastic-like straws, since paper just falls apart in milkshakes and tastes awful. It's nice to encounter a restaurant that has better quality straws; it really improves the experience.
The food was very tasty, both of my picky children were very pleased with their food, my son with his milkshake, burger, and fries, and my daughter with her milkshake, chicken strips, and fries. My burger was delicious, and I really liked the fries too.
I wasn't terribly impressed by the cost of the milkshakes. $5 seemed pretty steep for the size they were, however, they were better-tasting than other fast food places. Overall, the cost there really did feel a bit high since it is basically fast food, and that is the other reason I have to knock it down from 5 stars, unfortunately.
On another positive note, the restaurant was clean and tidy. The bathrooms were also clean, and one of them has a baby change table, which is important.
Will I return again? Yes, probably, but likely not with the whole family because of the cost. It'll be more of a meet-with-friends sort of place for me. I do recommend going there...

I found it’s location to be very convenient, but somewhat hidden. Unless I have a reason to go to a hotel in the same city where I already have a house, I will never have a reason to drive by and see it. The building is clean and modern and looks like just about any other fast food burger joint should look. The biggest drawback is the lack of a drive-thru so getting takeout is going to take an extra step or two.
The burgers themselves are pretty good. They ought to be since they cost $7+ per burger. While this is cheap compared to a restaurant, it’s twice as much as your typical burger joint. Are the burgers better than what you would get at McDonalds, Wendy’s, or A&W? Oh, definitely. Are they twice as good in order to justify twice the cost? I’m not entirely sure of that.
They have a number of unique offerings (including the Hawaiian burger or the chipotle burger) and they have a unique bun that reminds me of a hot-cross bun. The spicy chicken burger was decent and so were the milkshakes (including the bizarre peanut butter milkshake). The fires were a little expensive, but they had quite a number of options to spice them up – including poutine. I had the regular fries and they were unsalted and bland – kind of like KFC fries.
I recommend going a few times to explore the menu. I’m sure you’ll find that they rank on the higher end of...
Read moreWe went there to have a bite to eat. We got 2 mushroom swiss burgers one regular poutine and a cheddar bacon ranch poutine. I ordered and I was told it would be a few minutes so I took the receipt and went to my vehicle. After a few minutes I went back into the Restaurant and used the bathroom. I came out of the bathroom and waited by the til for my food. An order is given to another person who was waiting for their food the employee looks at me and I said I've already ordered and I proceeded to tell the employee my order. The other customer who had walked out with what I assumed was his order came back in and said to the employee that they forgot the kids meals. The employee looks to me and then him and says to that customer that I gave you her order. He went to his vehicle, grabbed the bags of my order and brought it back in. He put them on the counter in front of the employee, that employee picks up the bags and puts it in front of me. The other customer had their hands on my food and then the employee gave me that food. I was thoroughly disgusted by this. I grabbed the bags of food walked out and went somewhere else to eat. I will never return to...
