Did a take out order on our way home to Drayton Valley from Edmonton. Spent $75 on an order that I wish we had never gotten. Portion size was small and overpriced. My deep fried wonton was almost black and tasted like burnt oil. The meat (what little I could find) was absolutely tasteless. Hubby asked for all his dishes to be extra spicy and he got little containers of some sweet/spicy? sauce that wasn't spicy at all. His order tasted like it was burnt and everything was cooked in the same pan. I brought my wonton soup home to eat instead of eating it in the car and was so turned off from the burnt smell of the broth that I closed it up and put it in the fridge. I have yet to eat it and my husband won't even touch it. We usually go to Tasty Vietnamese but it was Tuesday and they are closed on Tuesdays. So disappointed with the Red Chili Leaf that we won't be returning. Wonder if the food would have been better in taste, texture and portion size if we had eaten in instead of ordering take out. Left a $6.00 tip on a TAKE OUT order and there wasnt even plastic cutlery, chop sticks ar napkins...
Read moreWent in for dinner with a friend. Sign said open til 9pm. We asked if it was too late to eat...it was 8:30pm. The woman who has served us many times said no however she was sharp toned and unfriendly. After getting our menus, the man who works the front said to us in a joking voice he wanted to get us food so he could go home. From then we waited for $50+ in orders and when the food finally arrived, was accompanied by the mop and strong oder of cleaner while they mopped around us speaking what I assume in Vietnamese. Very rude behavior and off putting after long days work ourselves. We felt rushed and their implied frustration. Maybe good food but respect and service go further than that for me when paying that much. Next time tell the patron 'sorry' its too late for an order, I would have been fine to leave. Any establishment I have worked in had a cut off for the kitchen which was expressed without...

Legend foretold of the coming of such ginger beef and alas it...
