Boston Pizza — Restaurant in City of Spruce Grove

We came for late night supper around 8:30 and we were severely disappointed. Our server Mckenna seemed not interested in doing her job at all. She was slow to greet us, slow to bring us drinks (1 water &1 beer). She seemed mostly interested in chatting with her boyfriend who was sitting at a table. Our Thai bites were taking a while to come when we noticed she was standing with her boyfriend eating food at his table. When she finally dropped off our appetizer she didn’t ask if we needed anything, she dropped it on the table and left. Our food was cold but she didn’t bother to check on us- again mostly focused on chatting with her boyfriend or the other servers. She walked past our empty plate over 8x before she finally grabbed it. We also watched her clear multiple tables but not wipe a single one down. Again when our mains came out(thankfully hot this time)- she never checked on our food, only asked if we needed a box when we were finished eating. She then didn’t bring us our bill and take our payment when we were 1 of 4 tables in the lounge - one being her boyfriend so she was clearly avoided us. When speaking with the manager after about how crappy our experience was- her explanation was “sometimes when it’s slow, it throws us off “ then gave us a $25 gift card to use at that location only as if we would want to go back there. We moved to Spruce Grove back in September, Hubby has gone to many different locations because he enjoys the tropical chicken gluten free pizza, we were going to go to the Chinese place right next door, but opted for BP, we where seated right away and our server was right behind us to take our drinks, Corona was a summer highlight for their drink menu, but they were completely out..not long after took our order, I decided to try the new menu item, the 2 piece beer battered haddock fish and chips.. Hubby said the pizza he ordered which I mentioned earlier, was ok.. mine was a HUGE let down, my fish looked straight up out of a frozen box of fish, it was dry, and both pieces looked the exact same in shape and size.. and I'm pretty sure it was cod, not haddock, the fries were either not cooked long enough or reheated.. our Server came by and asked how everything was and we said "it's ok" she didn't ask if there was anything wrong with it, said "oh thanks" and kept going, if i had a customer that said that, in my mind, ok, is not ok.. 24.99 for that fish and chips was NOT worth it, maybe 7, may sound harsh, but it was really that bad.. Will be our first and last visiting Boston Pizza. At this location, not sure if we want to try the other location or not..One last thing, the carpets are old and full of stains, the place...

We came with a group of seven people. We arrived at 10:00 pm and asked what time do you close? We wanted to sit in the restaurant part and not the pub section. The waitress said she had no Idea when they close. I was kind of puzzled and asked if we can still sit down and order. She said yes.

It was a Friday night and we all wanted the "fish bowl" that was on special that night. When ordering the drinks from the menu the waitress said none of the "fish bowl" drinks on the menu are part of that special.

I asked what ones were on special and she had no idea and went to find out. She disappeared for 25 minutes and then came back and said we can have rum or other spirits. I asked what flavors they had or what was in them. She didn't know. She disappeared again for another 10 minutes and still didn't give us an answer so she took our food orders. We didn't order any drinks.

The food was no better that the knowledge of the staff. One person ordered pizza, it was so undercooked the cheese wasn't melted. Then all of the meals started coming out 5 and 10 minutes apart so no one had the chance to eat together.

We have never had such poor service in any restaurant. Our bill for 7 people wasn't cheap so a bit of customer service would have prevented me from such a poor review. We still tipped.
