I ordered through the drive-thru (total $43.00) and when I got home I noticed we had FULL POUTINE - $7.50+GST on our order that we did not order. I called immediately and the friendly staff said to come in for a refund. I stopped in the following week and the front staff offered a refund. After the staff and management discussed it, the manager(?) offered a credit instead explaining friends of staff members would take advantage by claiming they didn't order food and then come back and ask for money back. I said I would prefer a refund, especially when given this speech. I told the manager(?) they could put the refund back to my credit card, if it is an issue. I was given the comment regarding staff friends' taking advantage again. I was given cash back and had to explain to the staff how the GST works to get the GST refund too. The manager did eventually apologize but, the staff with poor math skills did not. Not a big deal turned out to be a negative experience after I was inconvenienced to have to stop by and spend my time to get a refund on something I did not order nor would ever order. Not sure if I'll ever return. This is my first negative experience at Jack's.

In 1961, when Larry Campbell and Jack Clarke opened Jack’s Drive-In, they had no idea what they were creating would become a local icon. They just wanted to have their own little ice cream and burger stand to serve the best food they could make. The land the drive-in sits on was purchased for $700 The unique roofline was designed to attract attention from the highway traffic but, as later owners would discover, a V-shaped roof does not do much for water drainage. In June 1961 the grand opening was held with Spruce Grove Mayor John Allen Gosset in attendance. There was no indoor seating during that first year, but the roof extended off the front of the building to provide a canopy cover In the fall of 1961, enclosing the canopy area to create a place for customers to sit inside and eat. Jack’s is one of the few businesses in Alberta that has operated continually for more than five decades from the same building at the same location.

Grabbed a late night snack from this Jacks Drive in tonight when my Business partner and I were driving around the area and noticed this place from looking out the window! Since I love old school retro places like this I had to stop in! After entering immediately you get hit with the old school nostalgia feeling which is so unique and a great experience for old fashioned folks and us now older generation crowd. The food didn’t disappoint either thank you to Raelene and Riley for providing fun and entertaining service tonight! I had a Nathan’s hot dog with bacon added and my friend ordered a double cheeseburger, my hot dog I enjoyed very much, the quality of the frank was on point and easily devoured within seconds by myself! Loved every minute I spent inside this well done old school establishment! When visiting do try out the free record player machine and play a song from the many vintage album selections!

I’ve been going to Jack’s since I was a little kid and have always loved it. I have fond memories of coming here with friends and family to not only eat great food but share good moments too! Sadly, the past few times I have visited Jack’s over the last several months it seems that there are some consistent struggles where the workers either cannot provide quality food or cannot deliver accurate orders. In the drive-through today, our order was wrong twice and even after having it fixed, it was still wrong. Management, please help out your staff because they clearly need some better support. The attendant was trying to be helpful but was clearly stressed out & ultimately we still didn’t get what we originally ordered

*edited to answer the reply from the establishment” yesterday around 1pm we went into the drive thru to get ice cream cones - double dipped in cotton candy / coconut & chocolate & they were incorrect size / very poorly dipped. We ate them anyway without complaining & chalked it up to the woman at the window having a hard day. We then came back around 3:30ish for a hotdog with ketchup. Instead we got a birthday cake dipped cone & fries. When we said it wasn’t our order the gentleman at the window gave us the food anyway & added a hotdog but forgot the ketchup still. The food was soggy & old - very...

My second time visiting Jack’s (milkshake only the first time) and was mostly disappointed. Five item items ordered, but only two out of five were positive. I’m happy to say that the two staff members I dealt with in the drive-thru were very pleasant and friendly.

The bacon on the bacon cheese hotdog was extremely fatty and well under cooked (for my liking), but the wiener was very tasty.

I requested no tomato on the crispy chicken burger but to my disappointment, the tomato was there. After mentioning it twice, while placing the order, the person taking the order did confirm my request and said they would “make sure there’s no tomato on it“.

The poutine had very little gravy for the amount of fries in the container, and it was topped with shredded cheese (very disappointing). Poutine is made with cheese curds or “squeaky cheese“!

The pina colada milkshake was excellent! A good balance of pineapple and coconut flavour.

The corn fritters were fantastic! Soft and fluffy, and cooked perfectly. The strawberry jam was the perfect accompaniment.

Maybe it was my fault for not asking first if the bacon is served crispy or soft on the hotdog, or ask if the poutine has cheese curds, or to TRIPLE ask for no tomatoes on my burger?…or maybe not. Someday I...
