Unfortunately will not be returning to this restaurant after our most recent experience. We have ordered for take out from this location numerous times and it is normally really good. The odd time we have had issues with incorrect items but has never been a big deal. Our most recent (and last) time we went, we ordered through the app for pick up and pay in store which we always do. We went to the store, paid, grabbed our food and left. About 30 minutes later, I got a text that my food was ready for pick up. I figured this was a mistake and just ignored it. About 10 minutes later, I get a call from +1-866-439-0439 which I ignored until they called again. When I answered, they had said they were from Swiss Chalet customer service (the number matches) and the location manager had told them that I left without paying. They then said that I need to give my credit card number to pay. I explained that I had paid and that I was not going to give any information over the phone. She kept repeating that the manager said I didn’t pay and I need to pay for my food. She put me on hold and when she returned, I asked her to verify the amount she said I spent to ensure it wasn’t some sort of scam which she did. I then told her my bank balance shows the purchase and I did in fact pay. She said the manager would call me and hung up. Generally, I have no issue when mistakes happen but the customer service rep was extremely accusatory, did not care to ask questions or discuss and went on for 10-15 minutes saying I didn’t pay. There was no accountability for the mistake as I never heard from the manager or customer service rep again. Recognition of their mistake would have left me feeling better about the situation but instead we felt horribly mistreated and...
Read moreThe review below was from last year, after giving this location 2 more tries I can honestly say its not worth it. 6 months ago my boyfriend and I came, food was good but the service was awful on our way out my boyfriend was called gay in tagalog by a male server on our way out, this is obviously unacceptable. Now we get to today medium sauced chicken wings should not be sour, I told my server they were sour and she challenged me on it, whatever, asked if I wanted to try the sauce in a cup so I said sure. She then went to the chicken told whoever that I said they were sour and I could hear them laughing from my booth. After telling her the sauce tasted like lemons she just blinked and said okay... I was charged for my 8 wings that I only ate half of one. This location seriously needs to work on their customer service, this is now the 3rd awful experience I have had. We definitely won't be back. Its crazy that this is the second meal I've paid for in full and haven't ate. Save your money
I was very disappointed with the service and the quality of the food. Our server was insistent on showing us the recipe and explaining how the dish was made even though the description of what was served did not match what was in the menu. Our server never checked to see if the food was okay after he dropped it off and his only response to our dish being way to oilly even though the menu didnt mention any oil or butter and described it as being baked was "that's the recipe I'll show you". The manager wasn't much help either, we came tonight specifically for the kids eat free and we ended up paying for it because our meal was soggy. At least the apps we ordered weren't completely horrible. Service and management on the other hand were very...
Read moreDisappointing Experience at Swiss Chalet
With the cost of living at an all-time high, treating my family to a special meal should be a delightful experience. Unfortunately, our recent Friday night dinner from Swiss Chalet was the biggest mistake I've ever made. We usually love Swiss Chalet, but this time, it was a complete disaster.
First off, the chicken was so dry and tough it was almost inedible. My wife, a former waitress who worked at Swiss Chalet, pointed out that the meat had likely been left in the warming drawer far too long before being served. This was unacceptable for a meal we were eagerly looking forward to.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, the ribs were another disappointment. It seemed like whoever prepped the meat used a dull butcher knife, resulting in multiple cuts at the same spot. This left us with small pieces of bone in almost every bite, making it a hazardous eating experience. Thankfully, none of us injured our mouths or choked on the bone fragments, but it was a close call.
Spending nearly $100 for a meal for two adults and one child, I expected far better quality from a renowned brand like Swiss Chalet. This was an incredibly disappointing experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone.
Given the recent closures of several Swiss Chalet locations, I can't help but wonder if this one is next. Only time will tell.
Owner or manager, if you would like more information, please message me here. I’m willing to provide details so you can verify my delivery order from Stony Plain on Friday, June 7, 2024. I hope this feedback helps improve your service, because this was far from what we expected...
