Dropped by this cozy spot in Bowmanville around lunchtime on a weekday and, oh boy, was it the chill spot we were hoping for! The vibe was super laid-back, with lots of local folks just kicking back and enjoying the day. We decided to dive into a Canadian burger and some prawns linguini - both were spot on! Delicious, filling, and just what we needed. The service? Pretty chill. The servers were around, doing their thing, and kept things rolling without any fuss. Now, let’s talk sports - because if you’re into it, you’re in for a treat. You can catch the game from any booth thanks to the slew of TVs around. It’s like every seat is the best seat in the house! And the area? Quiet as can be, which just adds to the relaxed vibe of the place. It’s like this little calm bubble in Bowmanville where you can enjoy some good grub and catch the game. All in all, A Stone’s Throw Pub is your go-to for a laid-back lunch with a side of sports. Great food, no-stress service, and a quiet locale that makes you wanna stay a bit longer than you planned. Def worth a visit if you’re in the area and looking for a cool spot to chill.

We celebrated Father's Day dinner this past weekend at A Stones Throw Pub & Grill, and it was our first time dining at this place . From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and made us feel right at home. One thing that truly stood out was the serving sizes. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions, Not only were the portions ample, the food was delicious, The atmosphere at A Stones Throw Pub & Grill added to the overall experience. The lively ambiance, complemented by big screen TVs scattered throughout the venue, created an energetic and entertaining environment. We could enjoy our meal while catching glimpses of our favorite sports teams, adding an extra level of enjoyment to the evening. Overall, our visit to A Stones Throw Pub & Grill was a fantastic experience. We left with full stomachs, happy hearts, and plans to return in the future. If you're looking for a place to enjoy delicious food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere in around Bowmanville I highly recommend giving A Stones Throw Pub & Grill a try.

I was en route to Kingston, but decided to go somewhere on the way to relax and eat. I found this pub and decided to try it simply because the reviews were good and it was near the highway. I was pleasantly surprised at how much food you get for a great price. I ordered the $16 meatloaf, which was a gigantic portion consisting of two thick slices of meatloaf, a giant mound of mashed potatoes, crisped onion bits, and loads of steamed vegetables. On top of that, the entree also came with salad. Trust me when I say that this was both a quantity AND quality meal. If I lived much closer, I would be here all the time. I might make this place part of my ritual whenever I head to Kingston. The excellent atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel very welcome.

What a disappointment! We've had some nice lunches there so we went for dinner. He ordered the jumbo wings on special and a side of fries. I ordered the veal parmesan with marinara sauce and a side garden salad. The best part of the meal was the salad. The dry rub wings looked dry alright, but more like deep fried in too-cool oil then allowed to dry in their fat. Of 6 wings only 2 were drums. The fries were the usual imitation potato product that every place seems to be serving these days. The linguine that came with the veal was almost adequately sauced but not quite. The 2 breaded "meat" patties seemed to have suffered the same fate as the wings, overcooked in too much cool oil which was allowed to soak in before they were somehow reheated. Each of 2 had maybe a teaspoon of sauce underneath a dollop of melted mozzarella. No parmesan in sight. Inside the meat patty was some kind of minced mush apparently mixed with breading. Virtually no meat flavour there and totally the wrong texture for a veal cutlet. I asked for extra sauce to make them palatable which arrived after a couple of reminders - and we were charged extra for it. When he mentioned to the server that the dishes seemed precooked she said some advance prep is done but implied that it was all cooked fresh. Not believable. The ordered dessert proved to be non-existent so we gave up at that point. It'll be awhile before we go for dinner again. Oh and it was overpriced for...

Unfortunately, I’ve had to change my 5 star review to a 1 star review, and I will not be returning. This is the third issue I’ve had with this pub. We walked in, had to seat ourselves (which is fine). A man and his child walk in a few minutes after us, and get served immediately. The waitresses catered to this man and his child for the entirety of the time we were there, while forgetting or ignoring us. We waited over 10 minutes just to get drinks. We ordered our food, and we were not told that only 1 pound of wings falls under the special, we didn’t find out until the bill came. Ordered a poutine and it didn’t come out, and had to re ask, only for the poutine to taste disgusting and not get eaten. The servers never mentioned the untouched poutine, didn’t ask how the food was. We waited awhile for our food, food was brought out separately so we all had to wait, had to ask 3+ times for ranch and ketchup, as well as refills. All the pops were flat. My wings were dry and bland, practically no seasoning on them. $80 for a meal that was less than sub par. Will not be back. Extremely disappointing, as I have had good service there before. Also, they upped all prices, only to have...

I have been in here a number of times before and after new ownership. I have been very impressed with it since ownership change. Today however I was appalled at the lack of attention and welcome from a bartender. She walked past me and my company twice. I had to go to her at the bar to ask for menus. She came to clean the table and did not once converse or make eye contact then dropped the menu down in front of me and went to walk away without asking for our drink orders. When I stopped her as she was walking away to ask if we could order drinks I felt as though I was inconveniencing her. I asked her if there was a problem since she had not been attentive and didn't communicate with us as one would expect, and she responded "oh you are too cute" . Seriously? I quickly cancelled the drink orders and left. She did not appear phased. I manage a team in the customer service industry and if I thought my front line treated our customers this way they wouldn't last. Frosty Johns in Bowmanville got our late lunch biz today and the wait staff there got a very generous tip because they provided the experience that we expected and the food was great. ...
