The gentleman on staff who worked yesterday’s afternoon shift on 01/09/24 is an amateur pizza maker who answers the phone and makes the delivery. This one man act is so rude and uncooperative. You know the type that has a no-can-do mentality. He thoroughly ruined our dinner. I am still seething this morning. It’s not the first time either. When l order regular crust, I get thin crust it comes soggy. When l tried the thick crust, it was under-baked. When l give guidance on the phone it goes unheard. I asked for well-done, crispy on the bottom with a chewy bite. It came underbaked and gummy. The tomato pizza sauce is always too much and we consistently complain of it having Cheyenne pepper or whatever hot sauce they use. In all events when we look at their copy, there is no word to suggest that their sauce is hot.

Why is it so hard to get a good double pepperoni pizza out of this place?

After a month of ordering I decided to call and to deal with this situation because aside from the amateur pizza making, the first pizza we had there was really good, but we’ve never had it back. It was the first and the last good pizza we bought. It’s the closest pizzeria to our house. I keep hoping each time that maybe this time it will be right.

We eat pizza at least once or twice a week. When I told him the crust wasn’t cooked enough and related all the past issues, we never complained about, and told him he owes me a pizza as a make up, he replied, “absolutely not. It’s not my problem that you don’t like my pizza. “ he insisted there’s no hot spice in the pizza.” Look at the picture below. The crust is gummy and underbaked. So is someone sabotaging your kitchen and secretly adding it into the sauce? because it is very evidently there. I only order pepperoni pizza and it’s not the pepperoni. I’ve tested and I’ve tried all pepperoni. It is not a pepperoni. This guy is unfortunately no asset to this little business and to think I gave him a $2 tip makes me feel stupid. I am sorry for the owner. If he is the owner l am saddened indeed. It’s a darn shame because we recently moved here and are looking to crown a pizzeria as our in-house go to. We eat pizza every week, at least twice. We’ve given this one too many tries and it’s just not happening. Sadly, We will take our business elsewhere. There are other pizza places to try in the area. Give this one a pass, if you’re in Newcastle, Ontario. It’s inconsistent. You’ll not find the wholesome hospitality you are looking for nor will you find a professional maker’s pizza...

Well I am extremely disappointed. We ordered from here tonight ( we normally order from free topping) and our pizza took 2 hours and 15 min to come. I called the store at 1.5 hours to see where the food was and they were abrupt and said they were really busy and it had just gone out for delivery with no apology. I waited another 1/2 hour and called again. He told me the driver had 7 deliveries with him so it might take a while. I asked him if it was normal for a two hour delivery and if they were so busy why didn't they tell me when I ordered it would be such a long wait? He said that my ($75) order was the first one and then several more came in so they waited to deliver them all. Our pizza was not warm at all and the potato wedges were soggy from sitting there so long. We would have picked it up if we knew delivery was such a wait. Stuff happens but I could not believe was that there was not one word of apology from the employee I talked to or the manger who did not care in the least that we waited so long. (Our pizza came at 7:45 and was ordered at 5:20. We have only ordered from here once before and they forgot a whole pizza in the order when my husband picked it up (he did not know exactly what was ordered). They offered to make another but it would take about 30 minutes and we would have to pick it up and I was not going back out. Although the pizza is good i don't see us ordering g...

Customer service is something to be desired. For the 2nd time now we ordered the cinnamon bites with our pizza...came with no caramel dip. We order from here once week so...when I called (and yes I was upset since they seem to screw up often)...I was told it wasn't his fault because he didn't know when they took the order. Driver told me he's "just the driver" with his less then desirable attitude after his $5 tip. Guess I'm wondering who's at fault if none of these kids can own up? I was talked to very sarcastically which in turn evolved into me getting more upset. My husband said years ago he'd never order from Ryan again and I reformed him. Regrettably after tonight. Just for the record...they have screwed up our order MANY times and I've never said anything because i know how crazy weekends can be for them...this incident took place on a Wednesday. I was asked...in these words exactly..."so what is it you'd like me to do for you?" In a very undesirable tone. How about get my order right for once!! I was also told that the caramel dip never used to come with the cinnamon bites...as if to say...you're lucky when you get it. I would also like to add that the guy who answered the phone last week hadn't brushed up on his customer service handbook according to my husband. Looks like we'll be going back to rosalinas for our $70 weekly...

Awesome pizza, awesome price!.... Well sadly this was my review from five years ago. Been loyal and promoting this place for years until now. Mentioned to the guys how much their crust was growing larger and toppings were getting lighter and lighter. They apologized and made some excuse and it would not happen again. Next three pizzas in a row 1/3-1/2 crust and very little for toppings. Sad day, my last pizza from Papa's. Good luck. PS, just ate a slice and the crust is so hard and chewy that I am in disbelief- it's bad. Say goodbye our party and large crew opg orders. Apparently there is new management at this location. I ordered a pizza, and it was actually quite good. When I picked it up, I spun the box (like the staff did back when the place opened) and opened it to find these folks at least put toppings out to the crust, as it should be. Good luck guys, consistency is everything.

Pizza tastes good, but they changed owners three months ago, too expensive now. In Feb 2025, a large "walk-in" pepperoni was $12.00 tax included, now it's base price is 12.99 + 13% HST. Try to order online, and they charge a $2.49 "Online fee," which is also charged HST on top of that - for pick up?? And THEN they ask for a tip... So $12 bucks to $17.49. What additional "online service" do I get for ordering online and picking up the pie myself? When I asked the staff at the counter they said, "prices changed from head office" and then they didn't even cut my pizza - I guess out of retaliation for "daring to ask about the price" Too bad, it was the only pizza in town that I liked. I won't be buying from here anymore. Good luck to the new owners with their increasing prices.
