JJ's Steak & Burgers — Restaurant in Cobourg

My boyfriend and I went on a very busy night in hopes to get some quick grub before meeting our real estate agent.. after 15-20 minutes of placing the order my boyfriend went up to ask how much longer it would be just because we had somewhere be (so we could let our agent know if/how late we would be.)

After asking, the gentleman working the till proceeded to yell at us and explain to us how a line works and we need to wait in it.. and then told another customer how impatient we were and how we were just in a rush for everything and then proceeded to laugh at us.. I was absolutely mortified that such a simple question turned into us being mocked and ridiculed.

Two minutes later our order was up.

So, I guess my moral of the story is he could have said "ya, it'll be about 5 miniutes" instead of educating us about how a line works and making fun of us.

3 stars because the food was decent, service for us...

Burgers and Fries are just burgers and fries... until you get to JJ's! JJ's is a family-owned and operated restaurant offering a unique dining experience: place your order at the counter (however you like it), grab a seat, and when they call your name, walk up to the counter and grab your tray of hot, juicy, food. You can order take-out and even order your grub on the phone before you arrive! Everything is made with love and full of flavour! I'm all for eating healthy (I mean, sometimes you NEED a burger, but you can't have one every day). Turns out JJ's has great salads, souvlaki, wraps, and sandwhiches! Bonus: For the quality of food, the prices and quantities are noteworthy. You really can't say you don't get good value at JJ's... and every time you walk out, you're going to feel like you've actually eaten...

I've only eaten at JJs once before (waterfront festival) and was craving one of their delicious burgers. However, I was sadden at my last visit to find out that they do not take credit. Usually this is not an issue, but we had not brought alternative payment since most, if not all, places take credit. I'd chalk this up to our mistake (which it partially is), but we did not see any signage in the building, online, or were we notifed when we placed our order over the phone that credit is not an option. This situation may have been more positive in our eyes if the gentleman at the cash was friendlier and attempted to offer a suggestion, even as simple as we will keep the food warm if you want to run out quick, but unfortunately we were just met with...
