Traditional fish and chips well made and clean environment. I would say the beer I had was very very amateur not really what I'd call a craft beer more like a "kit beer" . So more homemade than craft. Couldn't finish the pint I had. It tasted like something I made in my kitchen 20 years ago. The stock beer was ok but I thought it'd be nice to try something from a micro brewery. It wasn't in my estimate. Plus the price for the beer is pretty high given the quality. Typically everything in Collingwood is quite pricey as far as food is concerned and this place is no exception. Fish is always going to be expensive in general and kudos this was not greasy fish and chips like usual. The cole slaw is homemade and not insanely vinegar like others so decent. But still too expensive to want to do a return visit for me. You are into some serious coin just for two fish and chip dinners especially if ordering Halibut. I have had very good fish and chips in Toronto and had Halibut for the same price or less than the cost for the Haddock at this place. So for the occasional bite it is ok but for just potatoes and fish it is too expensive. *** Response from owner Frankly most people don't send things back at restaurants and generally people don't send beer back. As patrons we judge the establishment on its own. Craft beers or not abounding in Collingwood the reality is that some of us have had a broad range of beer tasting and we know what we like. Sending it back would not have changed anything. As for the Halibut pricing here in Toronto, well you are more than welcome to visit Carbon Bar and Grill who have a $12 Friday special for Halibut and chips. I found this place one day driving by and was surprised. They've actually had it cheaper than that quite some time ago. Maybe it is not as fancy a place as yours but the fries there are quite impressive and two pieces of Halibut... smaller pieces but very good quality considering a local watering hole. Nice people there as well. Now as for nothing being on the F&S menu over $20.. well pretty hard to sell french fries or mushy peas for that kind of price. Fish is usually expensive and Halibut is generally caught in Alaska or north Pacific so it is never low priced. Haddock at Heritage F/C is $8.95 for lunch special. Halibut House has similar lunch pricing for Haddock. At High Street Fish and Chips the Haddock is similar to your price but multiple pieces of fish. So the Haddock we had at F&S was more expensive than I am used to

This place is amazing! Very neat and tidy. FRESH HOT FOOD! We stayed out on the patio, and the staff adjusted the seating for our big group. Even though they explained that the Halibut was sold out, as it was hard to find, they had many other fish options that were equally as good such as Cod, Pollock, and Haddock. Since I'm allergic to the Chips (Fries), they didn't have a problem with substituting it with a salad (with Garden, Greek, or Caesar options). Someone in our group explained to the owner that his fish was "overdone" (subjectively speaking; I would have eaten it 😂), and they had no problem in bringing a new piece to have with his meal. Their desserts are also OFF THE CHAIN! Everything is homemade by the owner, and super fresh ingredients used. I had the Deep Fried Mars Bar, which was freshly deep fried and the perfect recipe to put you in a Happy Land Coma. 🤣 The Key Lime Pie is not like anything else out there, as it is a healthy helping of both sweet and tart, and super fresh. Any dessert here is a MUST to try! 5/5 stars for me; the owner and employees are super friendly and passionate about their food, and it definitely shows! SUPPORT YOUR SMALL BUSINESSES!!

I cannot express in words how amazing this place is! We were visiting Collingwood from Toronto, and I’d been craving fish and chips for such a long time. From start to finish, the experience was incredible. Our server, Jamie, greeted us warmly and provided such kind and attentive service. We asked for a recommendation for a fish that doesn’t have a strong smell, and she suggested the haddock—it was perfect! We also ordered the calamari, which was crispy, perfectly cooked, and not oily at all. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The portions were generous and filling, and everything was seasoned so well. The fish was light, flavorful, and not greasy at all. My mom, who has a sensitive stomach and is usually very particular about her food, absolutely loved this place, which says a lot! To finish, we shared their famous lime pie, and it was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Hats off to the owner for running such an amazing restaurant. We will definitely be back!

The restraunt gets its first star because of its nice inviting look...at first. However, it is awarded no more stars after that because it is far from inviting, especially for families.

We went in with our family of two children and the children were served with a giant pint glass of water. Laughing in my head when my 2 year old was goggling at the chance to partake on this challenge, I realized this owner has no young children. So, I asked for a straw. She replied that they are part of the "No Straw Movement." I respected that and said, "No problem I'll get their juice boxes." The owner didn't like that idea either. Never have I seen a place that was so unaccommodating to childrens' needs.

She then continued in a condescending tone about our child rearing skills and how our 2 year old toddler should be able to drink out of giant crystal glasses. I guess we are failures at parenting. Or just mindful of their abilities. Who knows.

If you're doing a no straw movement, have alternatives for children. And don't be rude to families or people in general.

It's safe to say we left and went to an awesome welcoming place down the road, The Olde Red Hen. So if you walk by Fish and Sips, keep walking because you are just steps away from a real establishment, The Olde Red Hen just down the road! The Olde Red Hen has reasonable prices and a welcoming atmosphere. Families are welcome and straws...

We were taking our dog to Collingwood today because they have dog-friendly beaches. Last night, I called Fish & Sips to see if it was okay to bring Arya (our 5 year old Cocker Spaniel). They said absolutely. I had read a few reviews and was interested to see the restaurant.

Well, we certainly weren't disappointed. We sat on the patio, as we had Arya with us, and it was a lovely day anyway. Arya loves fish, so we ordered her poached haddock, and I had cod and chips, while my girlfriend had scallops and chips and we ordered extra coleslaw.

The breading couldn't have been thinner, and the fish was plentiful. All too often, the breading is thick and reveals a tiny piece of fish. Not here!

The scallops were smaller than what I have enjoyed in the Maritimes, but a scallop is a scallop :) They are still about the diameter of a loonie and the same thin breading was on them.

Our server said the breading is a trade secret and only one person knows whats in it. ;) It's delicious, is what it is. Light, flaky, crisp and just enough to coat the seafood.

Our server was knowledgeable, very friendly and attentive. She even offered cold water for Arya, but we brought that with us.

I will make it a point to visit Fish & Sips again the next time I find myself in Collingwood. We were 100% impressed with everything.

Arya...
