Rate less than zero.  Horrific, felt totally  trapped.  Reserved 15 nights for the end of June.  After a full day of travel we arrive late, and are told we have to pay now for all 15 nights before we have even seen the room.  Argued in circles with the guy that this is not normal. Told we don't have to stay there, but we still have to pay for the full 15 nights that we reserved.  We reserved the kitchenette room which said it had a full kitchen.  It does not.  There were essentially no cooking utensils to prepare food, no sharp knives, no can opener, no cutting board, a frying pan that was garbage that was replaced with one that burns everything, no pots with lids.  I asked for tongs and was given something for sugar/ice cubes. There were a few knives, forks, spoons, plates, one cereal bowl.  Dial knob on stove was missing, fridge light didn't work, shelf on fridge door not usable missing fall guard.  The coffee mugs were dirty, a pot with no lid that had a burned bottom.  We had to wash the dishes before using. We could not prepare or cook food here.  Cupboard doors didn't work properly.  We felt ripped off.  To minimize interaction with hotel, we bought our own supplies of soap, dish soap, toilet paper, sharp knife.  This place is just a cash grab, run down. Could not get the television to work; when we did, the screen was often fuzzy since cord/connections needed to be fixed. For most of our 15 night stay, it seemed we were the only guests, so it was quiet, the one good thing.

Update: Since my last stay pre-pandemic, doesn't appear much has changed at this property. Again had to wait 15+ minutes to check-in. Doesn't appear staff is on premise, but instead live near by and bicycled up to the entrance in response to the video doorbell camera at the front desk. Only a single thin towel was to be found in my "suite" bathroom. Still a "last resort" over night stay for me. The hotel is an older motel style property. Booking directly through their website and paying via PayPal - I still had to call the hotel directly to confirm my booking. On arriving at 6pm on a Saturday, there was a 15 minute wait before a staff member responded to the "ring for service" to process my check-in. Room was clean and tidy, but the amenities do show their age. No counters in the bathroom, all appliances and clocks unplugged, dated decour. The bedding appeared worn, the mattress quite firm, and the pillows fairly thin. If this was anywhere but the inflated rates of Collingwood, you would expect to pay half the nightly rate. My recommendation is that it's worth the few extra bucks to book a big name chain property... this hotel would be relegated to overbooked dates and the very budget conscious.

When we booked the room, they said they are serving breakfast, but in the morning there was nothing ... as you can see from the picture... not even coffee The persons in the front desk lied and they said they have served breakfast Terrible service Old rooms I won’t advice to stay there No value for the money paid

I just booked but not a friendly customer service. Seems off, let's see on my stay if my impression will last.. .................... . Feb 17,2017...True enough... Worst experiece!

It was family day long weekend. I booked for 6 People in one room which they agreed upon reservation and bookings.. My friends are also with us. WE ARE NOT 10 PEOPLE IN EACH ROOM AS WHAT THE OWNER WAS CLAIMING. IT WON'T HAPPENNED .. WE ARE only 29 PEOPLE BOOKED FOR 5 ROOMS..DO YOUR MATH LADY OWNER...we knew the head counts is for fire and safety in case of fire.

RUDE: We have 2 shitzu dogs with us booked at Blue mountain pet hotel, just happened only one was accepted and one was not due to out-dated vaccine cert. It was almost 5 pm so most of the pet hospital and boarding at collingwood were closed. We decided tried to ask the hotel if there's any chance or a small room they can accommodate the pet..we were told, "NO, I WILL KICK YOU OUT IF YOU BRING THE DOG INSIDE"... So NICE Ehh! We knew it was not allowed but there thousand words to say it nicely. While we were outside thinking and praying, when a lady passed by from neighbourhood and delighted to take care of our dog... GOD IS GOOD AL THE TIME.

DISHONEST: I booked for 1 room for 6 People (3 kids + 3 adults and the male owner accepted it. On our first day morning for breakfast my friend with her 2 year old daughter greeted the lady owner "good morning", the owner rudely responded "I didn't saw you on upon check in, you are excess people"... . Who the heck say that to Thier guests?

NO HOSPITALITY, NO PATIENCE WITH KIDS: There was no microwave in the room. Upon booking they said we are free to use the microwave in the pantry. And we can use Thier kitchen since we are large group and we can even cook as what they said upon booking. Yet she didn't allowed the kid to use the microwave and told the kid to go away, go away!..... What a hospitality!

RUINED ETIRINARY/ NO COMPASSION: Our first day to enjoy our trip to Blue mountain. The lady owner told us that they wanted to talk to us after seeing my friend and the 2 year old girl, we told her that we are about to leave for Blue mountain, "can we talk later as soon as we come bac " as we requested but she said " I want now" as she demanded. No family day spirit, the excitement was ruined so we talked to her at the reception. GREEDY/TWO-FACED: At the reception, she started telling us extra charges of 100 dollars each room for the excess people and for the second night we need to take another 1 room for 199 dollars.. Yes, true colors revealed at that moment. It's all money. BARGAINING: They said, they allowed only 4people each room... We are willing to take $25 each excess per head (total $50 each room) but not $100 EACH ROOM BECUASE ITS TOO MUCH. they agreed for 6 People in one room flat rate upon booking and now charging us extra extra charges....Lord please forgive them for they don't know what they are doing. CHANGE OF MIND: The lady was insisting of 100 dollars each room additional + taking another 1 room for $199. We said, we CANNOT TAKE It. The male owner, reduced the charges of $ 20 dollars each excess person.. Not bad, thanks for the change of mind from the male owner....but the 2 owner started arguing in front of us. The male owner mentioned to us that his wife was stressed....WHY SHE HAS TO PUT HER STRESS ON US!? THEN THIS JOB/BUSINESS IS NOT FOR HER!

INSULTED US! "Are you doing this at Blue mountain?", the lady owner said... DIsgusting words from the hotel owner. Beyond our limitations, we are also good people, you don't know us. No one deserves to be judged regardless of any circumstances

Our experience with mariner hotel was bad and good.. BAD BECAUSE WE MET GREEDY PEOPLE... GOOD BECAUSE WE MET GOOD PEOPLE WHO TOOK GOOD CARE OF OUR DOG AND THE TRAVEL LODGE STAFF AND EVEN THE CLEANER WAS SO HAPPY TO RECEIVE TIPS FROM US. The nice lady who took good care of our dog didn't accept any fee, she just said to PAY FORWARD and hugged us.. Indeed, your words will always...

First of all. Hotel appearance : outdated Service : terriiiblllleeee

My boyfriend and I arrived at 1AM after a late drive coming from out of the city. We had called the hotel to inform them that we were running late and the guy on the phone said that should be no problem at all. Not only are we tired and expect to get checked in right away, we arrive at the hotel and it was dark at reception with no body present. There was a bell, which I rang for service. No answer.... rang again. minutes later a women comes up in her PJs rubbing her eyes and looking tired but most importantly having an ANNOYED look. We say hi , are you tired ? And she said Ya. With a rude tone and started checking us in with no smile, no friendly customer interaction. We say thank you, she says “and it’s no smoking okay” we said okay np and I had asked if the room was this way(as I point in one direction) and she says “no smoking.” I’m like yes I know I heard you. Why did she say it twice after I told her I understood right away? I have no idea. Not that we smoke to even care about this.

We enter our room, my boyfriend and I ALWAYS look under our bed to check for any bed bugs right away. We find some sort of dead bug just rested under the mattress in the corner. We took a picture and removed the bug.

The next morning, I wake up early and head to the reception and rang for service. No answer. I see the woman in the breakfast room next door. I don’t understand how she didn’t hear this loud bell. I had kindly told her my concerns about this bug and had showed her the picture. She RIGHT AWAY got super defensive and said “oh no! That’s not bed bugs ! Come come. “ she brings me over to this other man(don’t know who he is) and he says oh no that’s ear wigs. That’s normal this time of year .... I’m sorry but I don’t care what the hell it is. It’s under my mattress ... and we sleep in this room. This is from poor housekeeping cleanliness. However , I had said okay that’s fine as long as they’re not bed bugs and they don’t keep coming I guess...

I then get an email saying my credit card was not working with this hotel ... and I had two hours to fix it. By the time I had received this email and actually had read it seeing I was out trying to enjoy my vacation, it was passed two hours ... I did not get a chance to confirm that the numbers WERE CORRECT. However , we got back from our long day around 8pm to the hotel, rang the bell (of course receptionist is never to be found/ pretty sure she’s the housekeeper too) lady comes up, I inform her about my credit card , she replies “oh the manager isn’t here , we’ll figure it out after.” Then she so sneakily adds in “no smoking in the room”. We’re like ya we know? Why do you keep mentioning this?” She replies “ya no smoking. It smells. You are smoking. I see it” My boyfrienD and I were insulted and appalled by her accusations that we smoke in the room when we didn’t. My boyfriend had reminded her that we had already had told her we understood. We told her we didn’t smoke. She reinstated that we did.... my boyfriend had told her that she had already stated this TWICE the night before and that we don’t smoke. She says it again don’t smoke .. and walks away.

So my boyfriend and I are furious on the accusations and the TERRIBLE service.

We spot the manager after (they’re clearly all family). We told him what we’re being accused of. He says it smelt and you were smoking. Again we said we didn’t smoke in the room and this is accusations coming from no where. Then he says we have smoke detectors that detect smoking in the rooms ... first of all we’re not stupid. Then he changes his story and says oh well maybe you were “rolling”. Ohhhhh ok. So now we’re changing from litterally smoking to rolling. Now he’s talking about marijuana. My boyfriend got super defensive. Sadly somehow must’ve turned in to a racial profiling situation now. Managers excuses to defend himself was terrible.

Overall. I’d recommend to go somewhere else. Save yourself...

The staff are only friendly to an extent. I came in smelling of smoke because my jacket was soaked with it from being at a smoking house prior, and I was asked not to smoke, but it was obviously that they did not believe that due to my appearance, which is understandable only to an extent.

I tried to shake it off, but on top of that they expect you to be quieter than a mouse, whilst screaming at their children for no real reason in the hall way.

I had no problem with the kids joyfully running down the hall, in fact it was somewhat soothing to hear some one happy for a change. The screaming of the parents was louder and more disruptive.

On top of that I nearly passed out from the fumes of the cleaning projects used, which I might add, were NOT helpful. Just because it 'smells' like bleach, does not mean it's clean, because the bathroom was nothing I wasn't used to, so at first I didn't care, but the amount of cleaner that as used in that tiny, unventilated bathroom was abundently evident. And there was still mold and stains everywhere. (The fan does NOT count as ventilation, because all it's doing is sucking all the oxygen out without replacing it, which the rest of the room is air tight. At least I can chalk off surviving suffocation off my list of experiances. THANKS for that).

That day I had to get up at 6:3- after 4 hours of sleep, so my hair was a mess and i was dozey, so I understand that I looked like a drug addict, but all I honesty wanted was peace and quiet and a nice bath. But GUESS WHAT? The tub didn't even work, it woudn't heat up, it backed itself up, and I ended up in the hospital that night due to nervous break down, dehydration, and chemicle exposure that got labled as 'just a panic attack' and I got thrown in a room an ignored until someone finally got me a sandwich and water. The ambulance drivers didn't give up on me though, and I thank them for that.

I wouldn't be surprised if any overdoses in that hotel have been from the chemicles they use instead of your typical gossip. Please advise extreme caution when staying there, and open up a window and let it air out first.

The only thing unpretentious is how dirty it is, they act like wardens.

I must also address that I've been in a hotel that had obvious uncleaned murder stains in the curtains and had a hell of a time, so this honestly isn't just about...
