I'm a little late with my review. TnT has been my local hangout for well over a year now. I spent quite a bit of time checking out a lot of other places in Collingwood, and I'm happy to have landed at TnT!
I'm not even sure how to write this review. Depending on which night you're there, and what time it is, you can have wildly different experiences; open mic comedy, karaoke, open mic music, DJ's, bands, burlesque(!), professional comedy, or just a place to hang out to have a meal and a beer, and/or talk to the bartenders. I've never been disappointed. What's consistent across days and times is that the staff are super-nice, interesting people, who work as hard as anyone I've ever known to ensure that everyone has a good time. They bring all kinds of interesting events, people, and entertainment to our town, and they're big supporters of the people who live here.
What do I like so much about TnT? First, I love the staff - they're great! The venue itself reminds me of the places you used to find on the main street of every small Ontario town in the '70s and early '80s, which I always enjoyed. They serve one of my favourite local beers. They support the local music scene. The open mic nights are always different, but many of them are mind-blowingly good. We have a lot of talented musicians in this town, and lots of them play at TnT on Thursday nights - often whole bands , not just musically gifted individuals (but that too). I've seen performers ranging from nine years old to seventy years old playing a wide range of genres (with wildly varying degrees of exactitude). If I miss a Thursday night, I suffer serious FOMO (anyone know who was there last night?)! The other customers! The owners, staff, and the venue can only do so much - the experience at any bar and grill worth its salt is dramatically influenced by the customers. TnT has what can only be described as an eclectic clientele. A fascinating cross-section of locals and visitors. Everyone I've met there has been friendly, interesting, and super-supportive of the other customers - many of whom are also the performers. A great group. I don't eat at TnT often but the food I've had there has all been very good. I hear good things from others who eat there more frequently.
So I guess there are a lot of things I like about the place!
If you haven't visited yet, make a point of dropping by. Check social media if you prefer to know what you're getting into, or just step through the door and be surprised. It's a late night place, so it's quiet for a couple of hours after opening. If you like being where the action is, you've got time to check out some other local venues first, then drop by TnT to close the night. I'm confident that you'll enjoy...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Taps and Tunes in Collingwood, Ontario, and I must say, it was a truly unforgettable experience! This charming establishment has mastered the art of combining great food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere, making it a must-visit destination for anyone in the area.
The star of the show was undoubtedly their Fish and Chips meal, which was presented with flair and finesse. The dish was a masterpiece of culinary art, with each component carefully crafted to create a harmonious balance of flavors and textures. The fish was cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior giving way to tender, flaky flesh. The chips (or fries, for our American friends) were cooked just right, with a satisfying crunch that complemented the fish beautifully.
But what truly set Taps and Tunes apart was the exceptional service. The server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, taking the time to answer my questions :) The staff's warm and welcoming demeanor made me feel like an old friend, rather than just a customer.
The atmosphere at Taps and Tunes was equally impressive, with a cozy and intimate setting that was perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic evening. The decor was tasteful and understated, with a focus on comfortable seating and warm lighting.
In short, Taps and Tunes in Collingwood, Ontario, is a true gem that deserves to be recognized. With its exceptional food, outstanding service, and warm atmosphere, it's a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a great dining experience. Do yourself a favor and stop by Taps and Tunes – your taste buds (and your sense of harmony) will thank you!

It's not too much of a headache. And also, they have no problem on turning down the music. If it's too much for you, the place looks absolutely amazing.
