We chose this location for a date night while in town for the weekend based on the photos, reviews and menu, having high hopes for a fun night out. We called to place a reservation a week prior, and left a message on their answering machine, but did not get a call back. I called the next night and was able to make my reservation for 2. We arrived around 5:30 on a Saturday night, I mentioned the reservation, but there seemed to be no record of it. Thankfully there was a table available, as the restaurant was next to empty at the time. The hostess apologized and was helpful, we were not bothered and mentioned these things happen, and were seated and still off to an enjoyable night. I felt like a cocktail that was not listed, and since it was dead the bartender came over to discuss, and we found something she had the ingredients for, which was delicious, and were honestly off to a great night. We ordered/split 1 appetizer (the tuna) which was yummy, and then ordered the duck spring rolls, and placed an order for our main course as well. The spring rolls came suspiciously quickly, and upon biting into one we discovered they were ice cold inside. Not just "not warm", but actually almost frozen inside. We left the other 2 spring rolls untouched and placed the one half back on the plate and just waited for our server to return. Disappointing for $17 spring rolls. When she did return to replace our cutlery we informed her that the spring rolls were inedible due to being nearly frozen, and just asked that they please be removed, both from the table and the bill. We were offered little more than, "Oh sorry". This seemed extra unfortunate since there really was no one else around at the time, so the kitchen couldn't have been that busy, and it was glaringly obvious that they were not prepared properly if you gave them the slightest touch. People began to filter in and the ambiance improved as we got out mains. They were both alright, I had the salmon which had a yummy glaze, but probably wasn't worth $33. My partner got a burger, which she said was good, but also didn't stand out. Our server never even asked if we wanted a second drink, so at the end of the meal we just asked for the bill and left. Overall the ambiance and decor were nice, and other than the frozen spring rolls the food was tasty, though a little overpriced as nothing stood out as something we had to have again. Overall it was an alright night out, just felt a little bit of a let down compared to what we had in mind. We've had things go awry at other places and still had a great time and wanted to return. We never ask for or expect anything given (Other than asking not to be charged for frozen food), but I was a little shocked that with no other tables we got such little attention, and not even asked if there was something else that could be brought out or done to help the meal. I'm sure others' experiences were positive, but...
Read moreOverall garbage experience, only upside was a nice interior. Celebrated a birthday dinner here and would never come back. Tried to order several apps off the menu but was told that they had run out of items due to it being a busy weekend (aka another way of saying poor management). Never been to a restaurant that had run out of menu items due to it being "busy". You are located in Collingwood, not downtown New York. Ordered the mushroom pasta and the steak frites for our mains. Pasta was as bland as can be and needed a lot more seasoning. I ordered my steak medium rare but it was very obvious that they did not let the steak rest before serving, given that my entire plate was swimming in juices. Having some blood is cool, but i didn't order my steak and fries to be diving off the deep end of a blood pool. Waitress had told me I was lucky given that my cut of steak was "surprisingly big" and that they're usually "smaller", which is a sweet deal for me and I'm not complaining about that but the couple next to me made a comment about how small their steak frites was compared to mine lol. Id be cool with paying the 54$ for steak frites but at least learn how to cook it properly if you're willing to charge people that price. Finally, at the end of our meal the waitress had dropped the bill off without us requesting it and then asked if we wanted anything else. When we tried to order dessert she mentioned it wasn't possible since the kitchen staff had gone home so now I'm curious as to what I could have possibly ordered if the staff had already left lol. Let me clarify for all those reading this review, our dinner reso's were at 8:00pm and on Sunday's according to google, the restaurant closes at 9:00pm. I have no issue with the staff leaving when their shifts end but the servers not giving the customers a "last call" is once again just poor customer service skills. Given that the restaurant had a grand total of 4 tables at that time, all seated within 5 feet of each other it would have taken maybe 5 seconds to announce a last call before the kitchen staff left. The entire time from when we were seated to when we had left our waitress's attitude just felt like she was trying to rush us to finish so that she can go home since it was a slow night at the restaurant. I understand it's the end of your shift and everyone can have off days but unfortunately in this line of work you can't display this type of attitude as much as i'm sure some people would love to. Not sure as to how the reviews for this place are as high as they are unless its all family and friend reviews or if people don't have...

Very disappointing experience. Reservations for 3 were made on Opentable and specified it was for a 40th birthday dinner. Restaurant itself was nice inside. Busier then we thought it would be on a Monday night but overall had good decor and ambiance.
Server came over quickly to offer us water and drinks but seemed like she was not in a good mood at all, made no effort to small talk or be friendly. We ordered drinks, the Peggy’s salad and bread service to start. The salad was very bland and save your money on the so called bread service, we got 4 tiny pieces of stale bread.
We placed our main course order shortly after the drinks were dropped off. We ordered the Blackened Salmon, Rack of Lamb and Mushroom Pappardelle. We requested the Lamb and Salmon to be cooked well done. The server, still being rather short and not all that friendly asked us if we have ever ate lamb and salmon well done and are we sure that’s what we want. I think at 40+ years old we know how we like our food cooked. I’ve been a server/bartender all my adult life so I was just very surprised at her order taking approach. Not sure if she was just having a bad day but she seemed very annoyed and short with us from the moment we sat down. After convincing her that yes we want our food cooked well we then proceeded to wait 45 min for our mains to be brought out. While we are used to waiting a bit longer for well done dishes it should not take 45 min to cook any of the we ordered. When we finally got our food, the salmon arrived with fingerlings potatoes instead of mashed. When I pointed it out to the server she said oh yes I know you ordered mashed is the fingerling ok instead? I said no I would like the mashed. At this point we are at almost at the hour mark and we are hungry. Instead of leaving my plate so I could start eating with the the people at my table and going to get a side of mashed potatoes, she took my entire plate away. When I received my plate back and finally started to eat I got the lovely surprise of salmon that was the complete opposite of well done. At this point we are all just frustrated. At least the lamb was well done but the cuts were very bad, fatty and could have been prepped better. The only dish that was actually enjoyed was the pasta.
We had high hopes for this after reading other reviews, not sure what went wrong but sadly would definitely...
