If asked “would I go back to Aria Afghan Grill?” the answer would be no. We didn’t necessarily find anything bad with our meals but we didn’t come away talking about how good any particular dish was. I will say the Afghan naan was the size of a frisbee and rice portions were plentiful. The kababs were cooked well. Forgive our western expectations but we all commented to each other that the experience would have been improved if there were accompanying sauces or dips to add more flavour. Indeed the waitress brought out Afghan chutney/cilantro sauce and a chilli sauce but these were served in 1 ounce plastic takeout containers. Hardly a fine dining experience as other reviews eluded to. Our overall comments amongst our group was “the food was ….okay/good….but it needed more sauces/side sauces because it felt dry”
Service was friendly but a bit off the mark. We had to ask for water. Drink orders were taken but one our guests doesn’t drink but that person was not asked if they wanted water or anything else. Not a big deal but still we noticed that oversight. Half the table was served then it took another 5 or so minutes before the remaining meals were served.
The atmosphere is, in a word, bright light bulbs. Cozy or intimate dining isn’t the order of the day.
Dining experiences are personal and everyone has likes and dislikes. I wouldn’t be negatively critical of Aria Afghan Grill however we all agreed that it’s not high on our “must go back” list. It’s a restaurant that is trying its best in a more than challenging market. A few tweaks and improvements will really help them step...

Read moreI appreciate your prompt response to my feedback, although I must say I am disappointed by your defensive and accusatory tone.
First and foremost, let me assure you that I stand by my experience and my review. While I understand that negative feedback can be difficult to receive, dismissing it outright and resorting to personal attacks is unprofessional and unbecoming of a reputable establishment.
Contrary to your assumption, I do not require guidance to express my dissatisfaction with a dining experience. My review was based solely on my own observations and tastes, and I have every right to share my honest opinion, just as the other patrons who have left positive reviews have the right to do so.
As for your insinuation that my review is fake or influenced by others, I find it insulting and baseless. It is unfair to discount my feedback simply because it does not align with the majority of reviews. Every customer's experience is valid and should be taken seriously, regardless of whether it is positive or negative.
Furthermore, questioning my knowledge of Afghan food or culinary expertise is irrelevant and disrespectful. As a paying customer, I have the right to critique the quality of the food and service provided without being subjected to personal attacks.
I urge you to reconsider your approach to handling negative feedback and instead use it as an opportunity for growth and improvement. Addressing legitimate concerns raised by customers is essential for maintaining a positive reputation and fostering customer...
