IKEA Swedish Café — Restaurant in Coquitlam

Come on, IKEA. You get that people love food, are happier when they’re fed, will stay longer, want to sample your groceries… but my recent experience, yuck. Dried out fries, dry odd veggie balls, sloppy potato medallion, soggy “toasted” garlic bread, stale crust on the cheesecake… the only redeeming items were the generous side of green peas, plant balls, and of course the signature daim cake. You’re thinking, what did I expect? What I loved as a kid! Hot fries, saucy meatballs, crunchy toast, soup… how hard is it to have fresh fries and properly toasted...

Very nice little cafe! It’s upstairs after the sofa area around where the kitchen displays are. It’s a small café within IKEA. Not part of the 2 other cafeterias. The tarts are succulent. I noticed a lot of clowns are posting photos of the main cafeteria here, which this isn’t. Please...

I stopped here to a cinnamon roll while I was strolling the store. Great view out the window. They had some samples of the carrot cake and it was amazing. I’ll get it next time. Friendly staff person as well.
