Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Coquitlam

I will never order from this location again.

I used to love Papa John’s and ordered from here regularly, but after what I saw during my last visit, I completely lost my appetite.

The staff member preparing the pizza was not wearing gloves or a hairnet, which already raised concerns about hygiene. But it got worse — she was handling all the ingredients with bare hands. Then, in the middle of making the pizza, her phone rang, and she stopped, answered the call, and went right back to preparing food with the same unwashed hands.

After witnessing that, I couldn’t bring myself to eat the pizza I brought home. There’s absolutely no guarantee that those hands didn’t touch something else before touching my food.

Unfortunately not a good experience with the service and delivery. I called them one hour after placing the order and when I spoke with the person on the phone they said that it should take 10 more minutes and hung up quickly. Then 10 minutes go by and I call them again and they still can’t give me a good answer. Then its eventually an hour and a half and I call again. I ask them how this is possible?! That at least I hope they can provide a discount or anything for the wait. They say they will check with the manager but no answer. Eventually the driver arrives and I call back to see if they’re going to offer anything for the long wait and inconvenience and they just basically keep me waiting on the phone to eventually say that they cant do anything for me. I do not order here very often, not that I do not like the food it is more that I need to be in the mood for Papa Johns. Whatever pizza I order it is always well done as then I get the perfect crunch to the crust (and reheats better in air fryer). The food is never bad (not a fan of the delivery fee but I still order) and never had a bad pizza experience. The delivery times can be long sometimes, today they did call to apologize for the delay and when they said the delivery would arrive it did. This was a much better experience for my food being late and showed great customer care. The delivery people have all been very nice and I enjoyed the quick chats we have had.
