Jiwen Garden — Restaurant in Corner Brook

Sadly I had a terrible experience with this restaurant today and cannot recommend it to others. There was a mix up with a take out order in that one of the combination plates was missing when we arrived home with the order. We called to let them know and they said they would have it ready when we went back to pick it up. When I got there it still wasn't ready and they were rude, unprofessional and condasending. Didn't want to accept responsibility for their error or have any compassion for the fact that this inconvenienced us in this way. A family birthday supper with some having their food and others waiting. A number of times a waitress there said she had customers to deal with and didn't have time to check on the situation that they created. VERY POOR...

I have eaten at this place 4 times and have had no problems. They do not use msg or too much salt in their foods. They use fresh vegitables in their dishes unlike other restaurants in town that use frozen veggies. It always tastes fresh. I have eaten in the am, pm, and afternoon and always recieved great food and service. I definitely liked the way I felt after eating. I have eaten at all chinese restaurants in Corner Brook and always felt a ltlle stomach sick afterwards. (much like the way after Micky D's) I have brought my dad there and even after eating at the dragon restaurant for 30 years he agreed this restaurant was better. I highly recommend this place. As for previous comments regarding staring I have not noticed this......

Hit and miss. It used to be good chinese food and our go to spot. Lately its been not good at all. The rice was dry, not fresh. Sesame chicken was stringy and tough, hard to chew. Cantonese chow mein was all noodles with not enough sauce. 3 measly pieces of shimp that tasted off if I'm being honest. Egg rolls were hollow with skimpy filling. Everything fried looked to be cooked too many times or perhaps the oil is just too old. Very disappointing.
