Cineplex Cinemas — Local services in Corner Brook

Used to be better. We used to get a variety of movies with 2 new movies every week, a variety of genres. Now we basically only get kids movies with the occasional action movie thrown in. I mean, we haven't even gotten 28 years later yet which is a hugely anticipated movie, part of a big franchise, with a large fan base because we never get anything remotely scary anymore. We often never get highly anticipated movies because of the genre when the audience is here and willing to pay! I'd go see more of the Pixar and Disney films but it seems staff no longer checks in on the audience to make sure everyone is being respectful, and through no fault of the cinema parents let their kids run wild. I've had to leave to complain about kids literally playing with flashlights and running around the last few times I've been to a movie. I really feel like someone should be checking in at least periodically cause I missed bits of the movies looking for a staff member, when I find one they're helpful and nice but it still sucks I have to find them. I really love movies and the cinema but it's just not worth the price to go anymore and it's a real shame. I'd love to see our cinema get a larger variety of movies that change more often and ushers that actually do their job. I hear the cinema isn't doing well and that's a shame but you have to actually provide what people want. I really hope they do better so we don't lose our cinema. I'd also love to see any sort of renovations to upgrade seating, get a better sound system and sound proofing so you don't constantly hear the other movie playing, or fix the screens as at least one has some smudges but I guess the money just isn't there.

Overall Pros: friendly and helpful staff, yummy popcorn, the only cinema in the area. Cons: no regular ushers, facilities have been allowed to fall into disrepair, uncomfortable chairs, poor...

Went to 645 movie at 6:15 only to NOT be able to get into movie. With 2 movies playing a kids movie ( Minecraft) and an adult movie ( mature) there was only 1 line to get in and it took us a half hour to get from mall entrance to top of step only to have our movie started and declined entry. Why isn't there 2 lines 1 for each movie ESPECIALLY with adult movie starting 15 mins earlier then the kids movie? This would sort out any confusion, congestion and frustration. If adult line is empty at concession stand filter kids line over for service but when customers come to that line ,stop the kids line serve that lines customer's and continue on once served. Seems simple to accomodate everyone this way. Disappointed as this is the first decent adult movie offered at this place since November ( 6 months) waiting for a night out only to get turned...

Tiny, outdated movie theater with only two screens. You can usually hear the other movie playing from your movie, which as you can guess is quite annoying. Small screens to boot, few seats, unknowledgeable manager.

Terrible movie turn-over time, sometimes a movie will stay for 3 weeks+, and the movies are 90% of the time kids movies. Adults enjoy going to the movies as well. Looking forward to the newest thriller or horror movie? No chance of it coming to Corner Brook. The last horror movie I saw here was the 1st Insidious movie 6 years ago. Absolutely pathetic. I'd say we get 1/10th of the new movies, if that. Completely catered to children and pre-teens.

As a young adult in their mid-twenties, I haven't been to the movies in years due to our less than adequate movie theater. Not sure how they manage to stay...
