We made a reservation for our anniversary and was so looking forward to trying this restaurant. We arrived at the restaurant and were seated shortly after we arrived. We were given menus and ordered drinks and the waitress took our order. They did not provide any bread for the table. My husband ordered the brisket and I ordered the steak. There was only one cut of steak which was striplion. We received our meal shortly afterwards. My husband’s brisket was done well but was really over salted but very tender. I asked our server for steak sauce and was told that they did not have any type of sauce. My steak arrived cut up in strips which I found a little odd but no big deal. I started eating my steak and the first bite was not chewable. I continued to try to eat but it was so tough and filled with grizzle that I could barely cut it and I couldn’t chew it. I finally gave up and called the server and informed her that the steak was ready inedible. She offered to take it back and speak with the chef. She returned and told me that the meal would be deducted from my bill. She asked if I wanted another steak prepared and I declined. There was no point as my husband had already received his meal and therefore we couldn’t eat dinner together. This is supposed to be a higher end restaurant and the prices are in the range of what you would expect to pay. It was super disappointing and what was really insulting was that the manager didn’t even come to speak with us or offer an apology. Very unprofessional in my experience. I will never go back and I would never recommend this restaurant. Disappointing...
Read moreI have been enjoying the wide variety of food options offered at Park West along with great cocktails since they opened. The place is fresh and when they can, offering pop up menus from around the world! They can do ya plate of fries and fish, a burger or a steak, the usual fair around here….OR you can try a handmade ravioli, gnocchi, Bao, or scallops aqua chile, fish sauce wings (deadly good!!), Pho, Mexican street food, oysters on the half shell, or food from a football tailgate party….all of these and sooo much more when they decide to offer them during a themed menu. There is no where else in Corner Brook doing this. You have seating options on the patio, with live music, a covered spot out doors or you can eat inside by a cozy fire. The staff are courteous, helpful, and attentive. The bar staff, mixologists, and baristas… excellent! The cooks and chef, are turning out great dishes. Don’t walk away from Corner Brook without trying out this one! Try their fish sauce wings and their honey and roasted garlic pizza! (Garlic confit smashed into melty cheese with honey drizzled all over. House made dough….heaven) You will not be disappointed! There’s a freshly made cocktail , mock or otherwise waiting for you! Going with alcohol?? Careful, they put 2 shots of alcohol in your...
Read moreFirst impression: The oysters were tasty for an appetizer. My partner and I had the steak and fries and found it was very underwhelming. We opted out of dessert as we didn't enjoy our mains. I might try a pasta main at another time, but won't prioritize this venue as a return visit. Prices were not reflective of the quality of meal one would expect. Disappointed as we enjoy going out for a meal and options are limited in Corner Brook.
The lady who seated us started the night off by abruptly telling us we had a set amount of time before the next reservation. Thankfully our actual server explained this much better.
Lovely renovation, but we ate in the dark basically. As we were finishing up a lady brought over a candle, which the next table asked to have as we were leaving.
I rated food as a three only as my previous visit was a better experience (artichokes and pizza).
Second chances: I've visited mainly for their trivia nights, which is a fun Wednesday night. There is quite a wait for any order, even mid week. Garlic fingers are my go to, the crispy artichokes are a nice app as well. Not my choice for a "nice dinner out" as it's very hit or...
