The Grove & Garden: Patio & Lounge — Restaurant in Corner Brook

Arrived to find there was live music (which was nice) but it was extremely loud to the point where I couldn’t hear the person directly beside me. There were two larger groups of fairly roughy people, egged on by the musician, but perhaps that’s the point.

The food was decent. We ordered the cod bites and the taquitos. The cod bites were good, but the plating left something to be desired.

The taquitos were closer to a mini fried burritos/flautas with a flour tortilla (taquitos should have corn) and a thin frozen breaded chicken patty whose meat is more semi-translucent shape than actual meat. That being said, the strange combination of fillings/sauces tasted decent as well.

Our servers were friendly and helpful so definitely a highlight there.

Overall, it say it’s closer to what one would expect of a 4.0/5.0 star establishment, but not a bad experience. Also, with the limited options, it’s still a good option if...

Visiting corner brook. Patio looked really nice. Tried to go there at noon on a Thursday with a group but we couldn’t be seated because I had my 1yr old daughter. The place is 19+ even at lunch. Went to another patio that was 19+ after 8pm, which makes more sense.

Based on other reviews, I guess it’s a licensing thing. But it would have been cool to know that before we drove there. Couldn’t find anything online about it. We left confused and assumed they just didn’t want kids ruining the vibe.

The suggestion to go next door isn’t really a good one since it’s a dark indoor takeout place and I assume most people visiting are looking for a patio, not...

We had dinner at the Grove and Gardens last week while visiting family in Corner Brook. We loved the atmosphere and the food and drinks were delicious. I had the smash wrap and fries and a blueberry mojito - yummy! Best meal I've had in a restaurant in a long time. Everyone in our party was impressed with their food and drinks.
