Don't let my 4☆ food rating set you off. The food was great, and nothing short of comforting and well worth the money spent. (No micro portions for 25$) Both our servers were courteous, and the food is always a welcome addition to Cranbrooks' much needed cultural ethnicity scene. It was very easy to embrace this food as an evening out for cellebration (Vallentines Day) on a cold winter day. Plenty of Thai staples both hot, sweet, bold flavours, peanutty goodness, coconut, and plenty of lemony curry leaves! The place isn't huge, but cozy enough to not feel like a cafeteria. Make sure to make a reservation for your special day! Dishes were spring rolls (4 huge rolls for 10$), very nice! Satay chicken, spiced to greatness. Pad Garlic with beef and a strong helping of black pepper (bold), and a Gang Pad Red Curry with chicken (comforting). They ask about your mains, to spice to your preferred heat level. Green tea of course for a fantastic pairing, and they brought a teapot!

Family Thai serves sumptuous authentic Thai cuisine just as good as you'd find in Thailand. Their "Thai Gang Ped" red curry with peas, bell peppers, bamboo shoots, and squash plus chicken was delicious. Also I've tried the drunken noodles — savory and delectable— and the pad Thai with tamarind sauce — not my favourite, but not bad. Spring rolls come in plates of 4 with plum sauce and are fresh and tasty. The iced milk tea was fabulous. Excellent service too.

Food is good here. Only giving three stars because it’s literally labeled a “family restaurant,” and there’s only two options for kids: chicken nuggets or fries, not together, separate. My kids ordered off the main menu and got enough food for a week. Kids portion sizes would be a great addition to the menu.

The reason I give this place a one star is due to service. Food is not bad. It is on par with any above average Thai restaurant...3.5 star. The waitress they hired has a terrible attitude. We were passing through Cranbrook at dinner time and picked this restaurant. They had 2 tables of 6-8 people and another table of 2. There were 2 empty tables of 4 and 3 empty tables of 2. We were a party of 6. She didn’t know how to seat us and looked at us as if we were trouble makers. She put us on a table for 4 and told us to squeeze. We told her that won’t work. She replied “too bad you didn’t have a reservation “. We suggested to combine the table for 2 right next to us. She reluctantly moved it and bang the tables together. We had to move the chairs ourselves.

Next, she never asked us about drinks and never came by to take our orders. We had to haul her to get her to serve us. She didn’t even try to let us know that none of the specials on the menu is available.

She brought out 5 plates knowing we have a party of 6.

She threw the bill on our table. We put a card out. And she threw us the card reader and left it to us to deal with the transaction.

This waitress does not know how to properly do her job. She has negatively represented this restaurant. The restaurant owner/manager could use some training or look for...

It was great. It's very tasty, authentic Thai food, a large selection of dishes and even dish pictures which is making it easy to choose even for people who don't know much about Thai cuisine. They are true professionals. The staff is very polite, helpful and attentive, they really care about their customers. As soon as you sit down, they immediately bring you a glass of water. Waiting time is minimal - I got appetizers in 10-15 minutes and main courses in another 10 minutes. We ordered iced tea, egg rolls, pad thai and drinken noodles. It was a little spicy for me(my fault), seeing my "suffering", the waiter immediately brought me some ice water and sauce to dilute the spiciness of the noodles. If you don't really like spicy food - ask for 0 or 1 out of 5 spices. I liked everything very much, it was an amazing experience. This is truly a restaurant that is...
