We went to the Waverly for lunch and asked if they had anything vegan. The server (big girl with dreadlocks) went to the kitchen to ask. She came back and told us the home made burger she could guarantee was vegan, so we ordered it. While she was gone we ordered two drinks, she came back ten minutes later and informed us she was wrong the burger contains egg. Other than salad there was nothing else we could eat so as we hadn't even started the drinks I said I really didn't want those either as I'm statving and need To go find food. She said no problem took the full drinks and we left. We realized about 1/2 an hour later we forgot my husbands glasses and returned. The server sent my husband to the bar where the (middle aged lady with dark shoulder length hair) bartender held his glasses and refused to give them to him until he paid 22 dollars for the drinks we didn't touch. He was outraged and so am I. This was their mistake and had the server told us we needed to pay for the drinks we would have drank them and then left unhappy. The service was terrible. And this was...

Stopped in on the patio for a couple of drinks and a snack. We weren't sure if it'd be good -- it's a bit of a sketchy exterior. But on a Monday, not much is open in Cumberland, and the patio was almost full, so we figured it was a good bet. We were right.

The appetizer options here are varied and affordable. We had the house-smoked beef tips (aka burnt ends, in BBQ lingo), which comes with a little bit of slaw and cornbread. Beef to sides ratio was a shocking 3 or 4 to 1. Incredible value. And so tasty. Darn good.

Beer selection favours local brewers, heavily on the Phillips brand, at least it was when we stopped in. Really, there are great choices to be had for anyone, unless maybe you want a dark beer.

Service was fine... not warm, per se, but efficient and friendly. Didn't go inside, but loads of people came out while we were enjoying ourselves, and they looked just as...

History, not-your-average pub food, friendly staff, good live shows, great new renovations, "The Wave" is still a legend. Wednesday's burger night is a regular community gathering of townies and UROC riders from the weekly women's ride night, Friday is their regular Roast Beef Dinner night, also not to be missed by locals and visitors alike.

The music programming for live events is top notch, I only wish their 'canned' music during regular hours was as progressive and varied, unfortunately it's the usual bar classics, which is about the only detracting thing I could say about the place. I've seen bands play here who sell out the commodore in vancouver, and the crowd who shows up is always into it and plenty friendly.

You can't go wrong with a night out at...

We stopped at the Waverly Hotel for a beer and decided to eat there. Food on the menu sounded really good. Hubby and I were really wanting a poutine so that is what we ordered. He ordered the Waverly smoked poutine and i got the Double Pumper poutine. They were both so good. Their food, drink and service was just amazing! Worth spending our hard earned money! About this poutine...It is HUGE! We could have split one for 2 people! But so good. The Double Pumper was my favorite for sure. I am not huge on the smoked flavour (referring to the Waverly Smoked Poutine) but hubby thought it was delish. Stop by the Waverly if you are in Cumberland!

I give this place 3.5 stars. I thought this place was pretty good for a bar! We ordered the peach salad, brisket, poutine, and a smoked salmon nori. Later on I ordered the cheesecake. My partner loved the brisket sandwhich! It had a nice crunch due to the toasted onions. I wasn’t a big fan of the peach salad as it doesn’t appear that the peaches were washed (still really fuzzy). I liked that there were a lot of options on the menu! I will definitely come back to this place but I wasn’t blown away (but again it’s a bar so I was impressed).

Went for a family dinner on a Sunday evening. Not too busy, service was super friendly and quick. Dinner was very tasty - kids menu is small but we had 2/3 items and they were both a hit. I ordered something off the seasonal menu (strawberry salad) and it was really good. I think the Waverley is known more for their nightlife/music but totally met our families needs for a tasty quick dinner in a casual atmosphere.
