I would actually give here 4.5.
First visit: a Saturday afternoon in the fall of 2022? Tried the daily special which was delicious...a beef torta that I can't remember the exact name. Great thick, crispy bread, so much flavor in the meat, with that perfect homemade touch that's hard to define. Only wish is that there was space for dine in and now know that a 2nd location will be opening up soon, with tables, I think in Cole Harbour? Look forward to it.
2nd visit: Feb 2023 grabbed a large nachos for Saturday lunch. Not massive, but exactly the portion size that worked for me where I ate it all and was satisfied. Loaded with delicious toppings. I want to continue supporting the owner, bc there is just something about here that I love.
3rd visit: later Feb 2023 on a sunny Saturday at 4:30. One other customer there at the time. I ordered the Pollo en Verde burrito and yum!!!! Just the right size to be satisfied and not over full again. Wrapped very neatly & tightly with the perfect dispersed toppings, so wasn't messy to eat at all. A few delicious chips thrown in.
4th visit: couple of shrimp and chicken tacos. Simple, bit messy, delicious.
5th visit: pork burrito - yum in the same way as the chicken.
6th visit: finally ordered the huevos rancheros, that I've wanted to order all along. It's exactly what I predicted. Perfect blend of flavors, size, etc.
7th visit: May 2025. Tried the pollo verde burrito and it was consistently delicious as everything else here. Filling for lunch but not too big.
If able, I will be back to try the rest...
Read moreWe went to try this little spot today. It looked good, had good reviews and seemed reasonably priced. My first question was if I could have a vegetarian chimichanga. I didn't see many vegetarian options on the menu but assumed they could accommodate by replacing meat with beans. The owner first said no, saw the look on my face then changed his mind and said "I could make it for you but can't guarantee it will be good. It's meant to be made with chorizo, if I make it vegetarian the vegetables will soak up the oil" this makes no sense to me since I've never had an issue ordering a vegetarian chimichanga at any Mexican place before. So I said okay then, what can I have? He said "I can make you a vegetarian quesadilla with mushrooms" I said okay. It was really not good. Just cheese and lots of semi dried mushrooms and seasoning powder. Topped with a squeeze of sour cream and some pickled onions. A few not very good tortilla chips underneath. No salsa or any other sauces for dipping. For the price we paid it was really disappointing. The interior of this place has only a few stools with small counter tops as tables. We decided to take our food to go since the atmosphere and seating were not comfortable. I would not go back or recommend...

This place is only one of two Mexican restuarants I’ve been to in Canada that are legit! (Shout out to Mole Guacamole in Manitoba!)
My Chimichanga was awesome and had some really good kick. The restaurant is cool on the inside and the employees are really nice. Stop going to places that are essentially subway for Mexican food and go to this legit Mexican restaurant! I can’t rep this place enough!
It’s a take out joint not a dine in sort of place. They also do breakfast on the weekend!! I’ll be back for breakfast...
