Went for wing night with a couple of friends who recommended it. Thank goodness they saved a table because before long the line up of people was out the door. Wing night means the wings are $1 each so we had some fried pepperoni (which was too hot for me but our friend enjoyed it) the bruschetta (which was very nice and a good size to share). When it came to drinks, if you’re not a beer fan the selection wasn’t great, but hubby had an Olands and I took the Pinot Grigio on offer and it was nice. The wings offered are varied and we ordered an assortment so we could all try. Our friends ordered the garlic parm wings, which were pretty tasty and also the dry rub wings which smelled amazing (definitely heavy on the cumin) and hubby said were decent. I had mild wings with the sauce on, and they were very tasty. Hubby and I ordered a dozen each. Hubs had quite a few left at the end of the meal and so did our friend, who had ordered a few extra so we could try them. When we asked for a doggy bag to take them home we were told “we don’t do that”. I was a little miffed, because IMO, if you pay for it and you are unable to eat it, you should be able to take it if you want. I can understand if it’s “all you can eat” for one price, that being the policy (many of the sushi places I go have it) but it wasn’t communicated in advance, and I paid for each individual item I received, so they wouldn’t be out of pocket save the cost of a paper takeout container. Then, the server didn’t bring a bill, she just brought the debit machine. She seemed to be only one of three people working, and no offence to her, but mistakes do get made and I would have preferred to see the exact bill of what we ordered, the price, and the applicable taxes. Presumably food and drinks are ordered and rung in. Why this was not done I have no idea. She seemed really stunned that I was asking for one. Maybe if there had been more staff on she wouldn’t have been so flustered. I should also mention in her defence that not only was she serving, she was also the de facto hostess as no one seemed to be doing that job. The owner was also serving on what was a pretty busy night. My friends were familiar with him and spoke to him briefly to say hello. The place seemed clean enough and was well lit. (I didn’t use the washrooms so I can’t speak to them). To be honest I can’t say I’m in a rush to go back. I would rather go somewhere I can park, where I get a bill, and I don’t have a crowd of people staring me down as I eat because they’re...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to visit on December 28 to break away from our regular spots to grab a quick bite to eat while in Dartmouth. I wish we could say our experience was enjoyable, we spent more time making sure mice were not crawling on our shoes and up our legs.
We noticed some mice and alerted the staff, to which they shrugged it off. Our food was on our table by then, we were trying our best to ignore the pests at our feet. By the time we were finished I was personally filled with anxiety scared to keep my feet/legs still. We informed the waiter as he brought us a box to take our food home, he again shrugged it off and said "it happens".I can assure you that we've eaten at a number of restaurants in NS and this is our first experience with rodents climbing on us or even seeing them while seated at our table. We go to restaurants twice a week at minimum.
I wish I could say we had a great experience, we were hoping we could add another place to our list of options, unfortunately the response from the staff truly made the experience worse. No sorry, no offer to even comp one of our drinks, nothing but "oh well, it happens".
We understand that rodents are hard to keep at bay, we don't understand the disregard for our experience by your waiter. Dreadful service in...
Read moreI’m actually very disappointed. I went there for my 30th birthday, it was six girls on wing night. We got there at 530, asked for a table of six they said of course we will put two tables together just wait here and we will go clean the table. We waited 20 minutes until my friend just put the tables together. The tables were filthy, and we sat there for another 20 minutes. The guy comes over and takes the empty glasses but leaves old croutons and old green pepper I think? On the table he did not wipe it down. We all order drinks, one girl just asking for a water. We wait fifty minutes to get our drinks, with our food coming right after. We ask for a round of waters which was given to us at the end of our meal (25 minutes later). We ordered drinks whenever he came back because it took forever to get one. When they brought the food half of us ordered another drinks, got it with the water 25 minutes later. We said excuse me to the waiter a couple times to get his attention with no success. He didn’t seem to care about us at all. This girls wing night took two and a half hours when I had 10 wings and 3 drinks. That is waaaaaaay too long. Food was delicious but wings were very small. Service really...
