Most recent: ordered via Door Dash for delivery on a gray Weds morning in Mar 2025 when working from home. Tried the Western sandwich and it is DELICIOUS! Grilled ham, green pepper & onion with oozy cheese on buttery white bread. Healthiest? No. But definitely better than average, so if you like Westerns, try here. The side of home fries were good and a reasonable portion where I didn't feel sickly full, and definitely wanted more, but it was reasonable.
Sept 2019: Last reviewed here four years ago as a vegetarian in Clayton Park. Now I am a meat eater who lives a 5 minute walk away. I stopped in for breakfast on a cloudy Monday in September and there were only a couple of other regular customers there, with one of the men very friendly and offered to top off my coffee for me. LOL He didn't seem to work there, but was comfortable enough to do that, which I like. I tried the Scambioli wrap (w salsa, scrambled eggs, cheese, choice of meat (bacon), peppers, mushrooms, onions) with home fries and toast. It looked like a reasonable portion size (not too big) but I was stuffed from it anyway and barely about to finish. Nothing fancy here, but this wrap I was pleased with for probably $12-ish. See no prices online. One older gentlemen was working and took him maybe 5 minutes to make me my order. I wish they accepted debit, but I did have cash in my wallet that day, hence going there.
April 2015: I'm not in Dartmouth that often, but had a commitment here at noon on a sunny Saturday in October, I felt like trying something new for breakfast on the way. Googled the area and discovered this place. Although it's tiny and easy to miss if you were driving by, it was very easy to find. A tiny hole-in-the-wall in the middle of a corner "strip mall at best" of small businesses. Some free parking out front and I got a place within a few feet of the door. A few smoking folks were hanging around the cars outside. Inside, there are about 8 tables in total? I took a small two-seater by the window as the rest of the place was mostly full. Your basic simplified diner style with the counter area/kitchen dominating. Friendly service. I tried the $10.95 eggs benedict with tomato slices (in lieu of meat) and it was good. Not the best I've ever had, but nothing wrong with it and I cleaned the plate. The home fries were a bit dry and lacking flavor, but I finished them off no problem as well. If you an eggs & bacon type of person that just wants food and no frills, I'm sure this place would suit you just fine. I have no reason to go back because I don't see myself in the area that often in the future, but if I lived within walking distance, I'd probably pop in here for the occasional greasy...
Read moreDelightful little restaurant in a small strip mall. On first impression one can see debris outside, it does take a lot of effort to pick up any garbage that is strewn in front of your establishment or for that matter wiping thecwindows and doors first thing in the morning. This is your calling card. Pride costs nothing. Regarding the food. I am not a fan of deep fried sausage, my server asked the chef if he would cook mine on the grill and he graciously did. The only critique I have is the food is heaped and I was served french fries instead of breakfast home fries. My friend ordered a breakfast with eggs and waffles. The eggs were placed on top of the waffles...yuck. Waffles should arrive on a separate plate. It was just so unexpected to see this presentation. I suggest the owner invests in some large oval plates not the small dinner plates they are presently using. That aside, restaurant is clean and staff are just lovely. So...bottom line, tidy the outside and the windows, don't heap food, home fries for breakfast not french fries and please don't deep fry sausage, they can be pre cooked in an oven and then heated on a grill that keeps them from drying out....
Read moreThe first few times we went to this place we were pleasantly surprised. Being raised in North End Darkness I am familiar with the lay of the land and this seemed to be something fresh and quality driven. However, over the past couple of years the owner seems to have lost interest in the quality of food she serves - one time the BLT was half cooked bacon, WAY under ripe tomatoes and limp lettuce. We were surprised but but my partner thought he would give it another couple of chances both of which fell short. The staff are introverted and a bit surly - the bacon is obviously pre cooked as are the "home fries" (1/4" fat soaked overly deep fried French fries from Sobeys I would say). The eggs were ok but the dialogue between the staff that day was about who should be on at 8am and why they shouldn't have so many staff at a certain time ... That is to say - not " hi and good morning to you; how are things; how is you meal". I would say this place was probably great in its inception but now things have gotten old - to add to that they only take cash. Which is fine ... In the 90's. I think trip advisor reviews should...
