Simply Asian has quickly become our go-to spot, and after today’s visit, it’s clear why we find ourselves returning at least once a week! This vibrant restaurant masterfully blends Asian fusion with diverse cultural influences, delivering dishes that are as delicious as they are creative. From the moment we first dined here a few months ago, we’ve been hooked on their bold flavors, hearty portions, and incredibly affordable prices.
Today’s visit was extra special because we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, whose kindness and attentiveness elevated our experience to a whole new level. We ordered the Pho Asian Pulled Pork Poutine, a must-try for texture lovers! The rich, savory pho broth paired with tender pulled pork and crispy fries was a delightful explosion of flavors, though I’ll admit the texture was a bit adventurous for my palate. When I shared this feedback with the owner on our way out, his response was nothing short of remarkable. Not only did he listen with genuine care, but he surprised us with a complimentary Iced Mint Ginger Lemonade as a thoughtful gesture. This refreshing drink was a game-changer—cooling, zesty, and the perfect way to end our meal. It’s rare to find such personalized customer service, and it truly made us feel valued.
We also enjoyed the Healthy Combo, which included the Spicy Thai Coconut Shrimp Soup and half a Baja Sandwich. The soup was a standout—creamy, spicy, and packed with plump shrimp, while the Baja sandwich brought a fresh, zesty crunch. In past visits, we’ve loved diving into their pho and bowls, which are always generously portioned and leave you feeling satisfied yet craving more.
What sets Simply Asian apart is not just the food but the heart behind it. The owner’s warmth, the staff’s dedication, and the menu’s creativity make every visit a joy. Whether you’re a fan of bold fusion dishes or just looking for a welcoming spot with unbeatable value, Simply Asian is a must-visit. We can’t recommend it enough—try the poutine, sip the lemonade, and let the flavours...
Read moreThis is a mixed review with some very good highlights and a few minor things that could use improving.
My friend and I popped in here on a Friday night. I was very impressed with the variety on the menu. Soups, dumplings, rice bowls, bahn mi. There was a lot to choose from. My friend chose a chicken rice bowl and she loved hers. I opted for the coconut soup and half Korean Beef Bahn mi. The prices were very reasonable at around $13-$14 for each combo. I loved the flavours in my soup - it was a Thai Coconut shrimp. The small bowl was actually quite filling. It had 3 large shrimp in it and lots of noodles and vegetables. My small critique was that I wish it was a little hotter temperature wise but I still enjoyed it a lot. The Bahn mi was okay. There were aspects that I really liked. The bread was so good. The meat just a little too chewy for me and I didn't taste much of the gochuchang. It wasn't my favourite. I didn't complain because really, it could be just my preference. I would definitely try this combo again and maybe try a different meat in the sandwich. But there are also tons of other things on the menu I want to try.
We tried the ginger mint lemonade and we both liked it.
The service was really good. It was obvious the owner has a lot of pride in the place and was very hands on. It's clear he wants people to have a very good experience. I appreciated that. He was also very good to answer questions and provide recommendations.
The atmosphere was fine. Bright and colourful. About 7 tables I think. The only critique I have here was that the cars park right next to the building and when they pull in or out you are blinded by headlights if you are facing the door. Especially if they decide to sit in their cars for a minute before pulling away. They could probably use some blinds or something here to filter the lights.
I will definitely come back here. There was so much on the menu I still want to try. I could slurp down some of that...
Read moreHad a craving for dumplings the other day, but didn't feel like driving far. This place popped into my head, so checked the online menu, saw that they offer Korean dumplings, so stopped in. My intention was to get take-out but when I opened the door, I saw that the little place was welcoming and had a couple of free tables, so I took one. Seating capacity for about 20. Very friendly service and they kept apologizing for the service delay, but I didn't find it that long a wait. The dumpling order of six was perfect. Came with dipping sauce that was good and quite strong, but I also used the two table sauces as well, to make each bite unique from the last. The traditional chicken bowl comes with a sliced spring roll on top, carrot, cilantro, cucumber, bean sprouts atop vermicelli noodles. I opted for the peanut sauce option on the side. Very willing and good. I will be back to try their subs next, which I think are famous. Some other customers had ordered those, and I got the impression they were lunch regulars.
Next experience: a DoorDash delivery on a Thursday evening in May 2025. Fast arrival. The Korean chicken half sub hit the spot. Small but what I wanted, and still satisfied. Ordered the dumplings again, but this time they came with the Sriracha coated on them. I still loved them, with some good spice.
3rd experience: ordered the lemongrass chicken sub via Skip, and thought it may not be great after the transit. It was delicious! So much flavor & a kick of spice.
Look forward to the...
