Was visiting Dawson for an event and got hungry after so we went to this place. It is attached to a hotel. From the outside it looks like a typical restaurant but as soon as you walk inside you could reel the ambience right away. It was a nice dimlit kind of restaurant which is really nice. It has nice ambient lighting. We were greeted by the male host who seated us right away. The place wasnt packed and was closing in an hour when we got in. I knew i wanted the jambalaya as i have googled it beforehand. My friend got the blackened chicken alfredo. We also ordered the calamari as an appetizer and we each got a glass of house white wine. We were served a red wine but that was corrected right away by our lovely filipina server with a long hair. After that, we got the calamari almost instantly. Honestly we didnt like how the calamari tasted, it tasted weird for us. Then a few minutes later, we got our mains. I enjoyed my jambalaya as it the spice level was adjusted to my preference. The alfredo however fell kind of short. It was mediocre and the pasta itself was dry. The chicken was a little bland as well. It was a little bit disappointing given that the place isnt cheap. Overall, i would still recommend this place for its ambience but maybe just as a lounge given the experience we had...

Service was terrible, inexperienced. I ordered mussels, they were tough, and no bread was brought out with order to soak up the tiny bit of broth I had. It was as if the cook has no idea how to prepare or serve mussels. I ordered a rib steak, it was over 30 dollars, 33 I think but can't be sure. The other options were tenderloin for 41, or a t bone for 38..... Where in the heck do they get the gall to have prices like that. I've eaten in gourmet restaurants, with 5 star calibre chefs, and the prices were lower. When steak came out, it was missing the prawns I had asked for, she said she would get them immediately, it took me asking two more servers before finally receiving them, in a dish luke warm, when my steak was mostly finished.

Overall, the server was inattentive to our table, she was catering to the tables that were there to drink, the entire experience was underwhelming to say the least. I would not recommend this place, you could go to Montana's for half the price, better service, and same calibre food. If you're thing is to get drunk and eat overpriced steak, then Fixx is your home...

I read the 4 or 5 star reviews and I can only say I must have had an extremely off night here or this place has really deteriorated. Several coworkers have also had bad experiences so I tend to lean toward the latter. The hotels nearby cater to a lot of oil and gas workers eating off the company dime so the prices reflect this. Overpriced and poor value. First of all in my visit the service was VERY slow for a 3/4 empty restaurant. The mostly indifferent staff seemed immediately put off when they realized I wasnt going to swill drinks on a company card I guess and paid little attention to me after that. Food was ok, nothing special, and it arrived cold after my long wait. At that point, I just wanted to get out of there and there was no way I was waiting another hour for a burger. There are many better spots in Dawson in my opinion. Also, be very cautious when ordering take out. 2 different coworkers of mine have ordered take out on separate occasions only to recieve the wrong order, which coincidentally also arrived ice cold. Dissapointing to...

This steakhouse is located across from Pomeroy Hotel. Just a quick stroll across the parking lot. We were in town for the night and decided to pop in for dinner. Glad we did. This is a nice and spacious restaurant. We were quickly seated at a quaint little two seater booth and after looking through the drinks we decided on Sangrias. Red) sooo juicy and delicious. Highly recommend this a first. We then moved on to a large Caesar salad. Let me just say that until now I thought a Caesar was just a Caesar. This place does it right with fresh parm and croutons, bacon, lemon. The dressing was nice and just salty enough and lingered nicely on the tastebuds. We both ordered the ribeye with mushrooms, Demi glaze, veg etc… this was a nice steak. At 10 oz I wasn’t sure that the cook would be able to char it the way I like it and still keep enough pink in the middle but he or she executed the doneness to perfection. Well done! We will be back. Highly recommend this steakhouse

So, the steak was awesome. But the halibut, which maybe we should expect I guess, was basically canned tuna consistency. Very poorly cooked, even if previously frozen, I can cook at home and I’m a horrible cook. However, the Caesar salad appears to have homemade dressing. However, apparently for 15 Canadian you get the tiny side salad pictured- again, maybe that’s the going rate here. Edit: The Halibut is so dry we threw it away. That’s from someone who eats all fish - I’m not picky. When you can’t swallow it however that complicates things. Second edit: we got the brownie for desert- we got literally crumbled dry bits in a box - please see the picture. Pretty crazy. Definitely not at all worth the price overall.
