Mother’s Day to Remember at Denny’s Delta – A Truly Canadian Experience This Mother’s Day, I decided to take my elderly mom out for a special meal to celebrate the wonderful woman she is — and I couldn’t have picked a better place than Denny’s Delta. From the moment we walked in, it felt like more than just a restaurant; it felt like a community that genuinely cares about its guests.
The staff welcomed us with warm smiles and a level of hospitality that truly stood out. Despite it being a busy day, the service was exceptional. What really touched our hearts was the special attention given to my mom. They gifted her a beautiful Mother’s Day card, and it wasn’t just handed over casually — it was thoughtfully packed, adding a surprising and heartfelt touch that brought a tear to her eye. You could tell it wasn’t done out of obligation — they meant it. That’s something you don’t see often anymore.
The food, as always, was top-notch. We ordered her favorite — the Grand Slam breakfast — and it was served hot, fresh, and just the way she likes it. I had the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, and it was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The portions were generous, and the presentation was inviting. Everything tasted like it was made with care. From the pancakes to the crispy hashbrowns to the refillable coffee that kept coming just in time — this was comfort food at its finest.
What impressed me just as much as the food was the atmosphere. Despite being a well-known chain, Denny’s Delta has managed to retain a genuine, local, community-driven vibe. They didn’t just serve us a meal — they gave us a memory. For my mother, who doesn’t go out much anymore, it was an outing that meant the world to her. And seeing her smile, laugh, and feel appreciated — that’s something I’ll always be grateful for.
Thank you, Denny’s Delta, for going the extra mile, for honoring moms in such a thoughtful way, and for showing what Canadian hospitality is all about. You made us feel like family, and you’ve earned loyal customers for life. Proud to support a place that values both service and soul.
Highly recommend to anyone looking to celebrate a special day or simply enjoy quality food with...
Read moreWe will not be returning to this location. Went there for dinner a few months ago, I had already eaten so I ordered a sundae while my boyfriend ordered dinner. They brought his dinner and that was fine, never brought my sundae. The waiter walked by many times and smiled seeing that I had nothing in front of me other than my water. After about 20 mins I assumed I was not getting my order as the waiter disappeared. He came back after my boyfriend was done his meal and asked if we wanted anything else or a dessert, I said just the bill. He then looked at the bill and realized he completely forgot about the one thing I had ordered. He apologized (I think he was new) and I told him not to worry about it. He offered to pack it up to go, I said it was fine. Then the manager came by and apologized and offered a free dessert, I said it was not necessary but he was persistent and offered something that would travel better than ice cream, so I said fine, cheesecake would be great. We waited another 10 mins and neither the waiter or manager came back with the cheesecake... so we got up, paid our bill and left. So this past weekend we went there again, giving them another chance. We went there with our family (7 people). We ordered fairly quickly after being seated as it was very busy and we had things to do after, it took over a hour to get our food. No one there seemed to be in any rush to serve the customers, the lobby was full of people yet there were empty booths and tables everywhere. It was very stressful with 3 kids and no food, they even brought the kids food last when it did finally arrive after speaking with the manager. Service was poor, food was ok. Will not be returning to this...
Read moreMy older sister and I came here last night for some dinner around 10:30pm where the place was not too busy. We were not seated quickly and when we were, there were only 2 waiters on shift. Aside from taking a long time to come to take our drink order, when our food order was taken we had to wait 20 minutes for them. The waiter Abashak came to take our orders and didn't write anything down when there were dietary instructions. I was flat out told I could not have broccoli as a substitute for mushrooms and when I asked why, he only said it was an extra charge. I told him that was fine and he left. We ended up waiting a half hour for our meal to arrive however my sister's pancakes were not served. When she brought it up to Abashak, he didn't apologize but instead asked her what she had ordered again and then proceeded to tell her rudely that the mistake was made and that they were going to make the pancakes for her now. He was rude, condescending, did not apologize for making the mistake, and obviously avoided our table all together. Were it not for Selina, who was the only server who was working hard and trying to rush around to get people their food and help them, the night would have been absolutely worthless to spend there. For all the trouble that was caused, my sister did end up getting her meal taken care of which was nice of them.
I also attached a picture of one of the strawberries that came with my sister's pancakes that took nearly an hour to get from the kitchen. Would never recommend anyone go to that Denny's unless you're looking for a super chill atmosphere where wait staff take forever to get your food and not take...
